We've been so pleased to hold our training classes at Barkers Paddock in Whitchurch recently. Such a great environment to fine tune the great skills the dogs have been learning. This lovely video shows Dexter the lab (hes only 14mths old) practicing his steady lead walking past the other exciting dogs. I love how you can see each dog he passes has a look at him but continues to remain calm, steady and focused on their owner, who have asked them to sit and wait. And how Dexters lead stays nice and loose. All done with patience and kindness. What lovely work everyone π
Spaniel loose lead walking !!
Who knew working cocker spaniels could walk to heel π€·ββοΈ??! π. We've been working hard with the wonderful Alfie on his lead walking and general steadiness and the results are starting to show. All done with kindness and fun! Alfies owners have been keeping up his training between our weekly sessions and they are truly dedicated to this lovely little chap π Very well done Alfie!
Doorbell desensitising
Truffle here is another of our Day Training clients, who we have been training for her owners. We have been helping with several things, including lead walking and calm greetings. In this video you can see how she is getting on with her reaction to the doorbell. Usually Truffle barks and gets very excited when the doorbell rings and visitors arrive. We have been working on desensitising her to the sound of the doorbell and also turning the doorbell into the cue for her to lie on her bed rather than jump and bark at the door. She's a clever girl and her enthusiasm makes her a joy to train!
