So pleased with young Conal at just 15 months of age, he has today won out of Novice at the Birmingham show despite the horrific weather we have experienced in the last 36 hours, thunder, lightening, hail and so much rain it flooded the grounds and roads.
4th yesterday the win today, just growing in confidence and strength
Our thanks to both GSD Associations for organising such a wonderful weekend, despite the weather, so much work and effort goes into the shows and it is much appreciated by all of us

Many thanks to the organisers of the Wigton and Lune Valley shows. 5 days of competition obedience, we had a great time, and can only say how much we appreciate all your hard work at putting the shows on.
We took 6 dogs with us on our holiday,
left to right: Kerroo the sheltie; Broc, collie who got a 4th in novice on the final day; the old gent Kai now 11 1/2; Then 20 month old Keira the Doberman, who won Novice on the final day, but she also got a 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th; Kalan 9 years and baby Conal at 13 months who also in these his first attempts at competing, gained a 2nd, 4th, and 6th, I was delighted with him to say the least.
Many thanks to all our judges for their time and patience, we also did our bit of judging and stewarding on the Friday and had a great time , with some lovely handlers and dogs coming in.

A lovely weekend at Cheshire Obedience Show in Bromborough. It was a weekend of training and development as it was rather hot, so walks in the cool woodland was perfect for the dogs.

Many thanks to the Isle of Man Dog Club for hosting their 3 day show this weekend, an amazing time had by all, and an excellent show
Thankfully the weather forecasters got it wrong and we had a fabulous weekend of weather.
Our boys and girl had a successful weekend, although still giving us plenty to work on for improvement.
Kalan (9 years), although slightly injured, won 2 x 2nds in the top class C, Keira the Doberman (18 months) got a 5th in novice and the old fella Kai, 11 1/2 years old also got 2 x 3rds in Class C, giving him his first two qualifiers to work the championship ticket class.
The baby of the bunch, Conal (just having had his first birthday) showed a lot of potential and promise for the future in his training rounds
We are now all home and exhausted, the dogs have had their tea and enjoying a well earned rest.

Conditioning is supportive for everyone, but with Border Collie Kai getting old and arthritic, he's benefitted from a little more support. He's accompanied by Keira the Doberman and Thorin the Bengal, as they aren't going to miss out on an opportunity to have squeezy cheese.

Our Crufts adventure was a little different this year. Usually we would be there for the Obedience, but Claire's 16 month old Doberman Keira qualified for breed and so we took the opportunity to go. Although Keira didn't come anywhere (which was expected), she did herself proud. Crufts can be quite the experience, especially for the dogs, but Keira was happy to wander round the halls and navigate her way through the crowds, loving all the attention she got. She was so well behaved and not phased by it all, a real credit to herself.
It was lovely to meet other Dobermans and their owners, who were all very welcoming and supportive, especially as we were new to all of this. It was good to catch up with Keira's breeders who were extremely supportive and we even got to meet Keira's father.

First show of the year for the girls (Janette, Tracey and Claire) and I, my Kalan managed a 5th in C, at the Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre which is such a fantastic venue.
Many thanks to Wirral Alsatian Training Society for organising such a wonderful show.
After the show we went for a well earned walk along the Gruffalo trail, dogs left to right, Broc, Vinny, baby Conal, Kalan, Gruffalo, Kai, baby Keira and Kerroo. All of them had their moments of lovely work and we now know what we need to improve on.

Last weekend was our last Obedience Show of the year and an opportunity to take stock of the progress made this year, but also what will be focused on for the winter training. For the first time, Kai stayed at home with his feet up and Conal Puppy came on his first trip of many.
