Mr Krumpet settling super well with Evie, I couldn't be happier with this pair !

Today was the first day ridden (after 3 months off), we took his chill mood for granted a bit too much and after a really nice start he decided it would be fun to throw some nice shapes 🫨 Evie dismounted quite... unvoluntarily 😬 but got right back on and then he was a super good boy.

I think we'll have to take everything back from scratch. And remind ourselves that he has recently changed his routine, environnement, mates. Etc... and even though he seems to have taken everything really nicely, his anxiety might be quite high at the moment.

Soooo today was a very exciting day ! Krum went off for a "new" home on full loan, near Swadlincote in the loving hands of Evie Littlehales 🥰 he's going to be so spoiled !
I will be teaching Evie and together we will start his real education. He already settled very nicely ! ❤️

Exciting news coming up !!! 🤩🤩

Now that the babies are born, sound and healthy, they will be moved somewhere else to another big field to grow up nicely with their mummies. And I will now be able to focus on clients horses 🤗

A first big change will happen friday involving Evie Littlehales ! Stay tuned 😝
Ps: The fact that we can't post pictures AND videos at the same time is really p*ssing me off. What a stupid rule. And I have to manoeuver to be able to put TWO videos....

So proud of my little riders today !! 🥰

This week Rosie, 15yo rode for the very first time a course of obstacles. She had only done one, two or three jumps before and always in a line ! But never a full course.

And here she is few days later riding Missy for their first ever showjumping competition offering 2 very well ridden clear rounds despite Missy's anxiety in the X poles and the 55cm 🤭

In the other hand Lily, (🌈Georgia's🕊 11yo little sister 💜) after only been riding with me 3 or 4x on hacks did also super well in the lead rein X poles class 🤠

Coming back with red rosettes 🥇 for both of them is just the cherry on top 🍒

Entries close Sunday 30th June at 9pm - entries, videos and payments need to be in by this date! Rosettes 1st - 6th per class.

£11 per test, all our own tests - marked by BD judges. To be done in 20 x 40 m marked arena on surface or grass. Tests and more information can be found on our page/the FB event.

BD legal tack for all ridden classes. Bitless is allowed for ridden. Horses can't wear boots or bandages during the test. Rider must wear hat and gloves - this includes Inhand. Casual or show attire.

Inhand tests - can be done lead (in head collar or bridle) or long reined. No boots or bandages

Someone's got an itchy bum 🤭

Lovely session in the sun today with Prim & Nikki.

The first time I met Prim and took her out of her field she was NOT a happy girl, and she didn't hesitate to let me know 😅. And just going up and down the drive in a simple head collar and lead rope was a big deal! I had to watch out for her hind feet, front feet and actually her whole body 🤣.

But few sessions later we can now get out of her field without drama and work on long reins (at the shoulders for now) on simple slaloms and cloverleaf pattern... She still don't hesitate to say when she'd rather do something else but overall she's now happier and more willing to do things with us.

Can't wait to see her evolve even more ! 🥰

Oh don't we love a good vet bill ! 🥰

I found Sindy very anormally sweating yesterday night around 9:30pm.... with 38,6°c. Notice blood discharge coming out of v***a.

Didnt call the vet here because I thought well it's the stress... she traveled 30 minutes in a trailer few days ago, changed pasture, new routine, it's hot, changed stable. Other horses not really nice to her... and 30 minutes after cooling down, Sindy was fine in herself, eating well etc...

But today, she suddenly bagged up like... FULL !! Took the temp 39,9° 😱😱 called the vet right up. 10 min later with vet on phone : 37,6°c. Surely cant be.... take it again 37,6°c. Again 37,5°... at that point Sindy's happy in herself, did big amount of p**p at night. Ate well. Drunk 70L... happily grazing...

But decide to get the vet still coming because she was still high in temperature last night. And vet says stress cant cause high temperature. And any discharge prior foaling needs investigating anyway.

Supicion placentitis although Sindy's not ill enough for the vet to be worried. Also the test the vet did showed an inflammation at 4/10. Ideally it's 0 but could be a lot worse than 4...

To be on the safe side, antibiotics, and regumate.

Horses aren't designed to be riden and it's our responsibility as riders to make sure that as we ride our fellow equines, they are comfortable and happy as their welfare is of the utmost importance.

What a week (or 2!) !

I've been flat out busy recently and I'm so sorry for all the clients I havent been able to fit in, I'll come back to you with my availabilities very soon!

- I "repaired" my field 🚜
- I now have my arena on grass fenced and ready (I hope next week it'll be dru enough !!!) 🥳
- Krum and Sindy have come back from their holiday field 🤠
- 2 holidays covers
- Getting a client's pony ready for a show
- Looking after the little Bart has been also quite time consuming (well.... the cuddles part mainly... 🤣)
- Lessons with some of my regular clients (ground work, backing, and riding !)
- Riding my clients horses + my own...

I've been doing 14hours /day but hey ! I TRULY LOVE MY JOB SO IDC. 🥰

Would anyone be interested in showing my mare and foal in hand ? (I'll do transport etc)

I don't mind if you're experienced or not as long as you're willing to put the work in and commit to come regularly to groom them and train.

Either you know your stuff and then evertything would be paid for.
Either you're learning and I would have to train you then it would be like a part loan or something.

The mare can be ridden, but obviously will have to be given a bit of time off to recover and then get back slowly into work as she's just gave birth 3 days ago 🤗. But the training in hand can start soon as foals can be shown at few weeks old.

Born 4th of may at 12:45am

He is called Bart or Barty.

He is either Perlino or Smokey cream, I will have him genetically tested to be sure 🙃

Passport name to be confirmed either Bartholomew or Barti Ddu (which means Black Barty in Welsh). Bartholomew aka Barti Ddu was a famous Welsh pirate. So it fits perfectly with dam and origins!!

I had told Georgia about that name so I don't want to change it, and I will hope Sindy will make us a little filly 🤞What do you think ?

After being up for 39 hours I am now going to bed.

Pearl has been an absolut legend. 🥰 and threw the most wonderful little man I would never have dreamt of.

Day 340 - 344

And.... WE ARE WAXING !!!!

Her temperature which was very consistent at 37,7° for the past 2 weeks has suddenly dropped to 37,4°. I can see a change in her croup, it's still not 100% relaxed though. And yesterday her belly on one side was kinda difformed, I assume baby was getting in position for the big day 😆

So.... I've been told off because I don't give enough updates on Pearl's pregnancy ! 🫣🤭🥲

So I'm setting up this post, and will comment everyday a picture of her bo***es / v***a, her temperature and any changes I can notice.

Also I'd like to offer 1 or 2 of my clients to come to the yard when the foaling will be imminent (even at 2am!), I thought it's not something you see everyday and some people might love to witness it. (I will very likely do a live anyway, probably tiktok though I'll see...). So please let me know if you want to be considered to come and assist =)

When I tell you you can trust Krum to find the supidest thing to do and try it ! Well yesterday for his 4th birthday, he found his way to the tack/feed room and decided to gobble an entire tub of treats down.... and rearranged the tack room to his liking.
