Someone's got an itchy bum π€
Lovely session in the sun today with Prim & Nikki.
The first time I met Prim and took her out of her field she was NOT a happy girl, and she didn't hesitate to let me know π
. And just going up and down the drive in a simple head collar and lead rope was a big deal! I had to watch out for her hind feet, front feet and actually her whole body π€£.
But few sessions later we can now get out of her field without drama and work on long reins (at the shoulders for now) on simple slaloms and cloverleaf pattern... She still don't hesitate to say when she'd rather do something else but overall she's now happier and more willing to do things with us.
Can't wait to see her evolve even more ! π₯°
If you need help on the ground (or ridden!) with your horse I would be more than happy to help. Fully insured. Xx
How cool is it to be sponsored by such lovely therapist ! Even if Pearl is too pregnant to benefit a treatment, Emma Luck Equine Sports Massage Therapy still have time for a little fuss. And Pearl definitely enjoyed her magic hands !! π₯°
When I tell you you can trust Krum to find the supidest thing to do and try it ! Well yesterday for his 4th birthday, he found his way to the tack/feed room and decided to gobble an entire tub of treats down.... and rearranged the tack room to his liking.
After almost 7 weeks out of work, Missy and I are back in the arena...
I was super anxious.... I only went because she had to get jabbed there. So I took the opportunity of using the arena but I was expecting a lot of drama from her....
Not because of going back in her saddle, because she still has been hacking out during those weeks but going back to this arena for the first time without George... It was very emotional, especially on Missy, because she was the one who was riding her. So my heart was pounding all along.... Anxiety to its highest from the moment we had to leave. But Missy was a super star and for once, she's been the one looking after me.... because believe me, my confidence at that point was DOA....
But... against all odds, she loaded in the trailer at once (she usually always argue a tiny bit when on her own). She had her vaccin like a little star. She was not too fidgety on the car park getting tacked up, nor at the mounting block. And she was really good in the arena, walk trot and canter, had a little dressage test practice and was brilliant. Spooked at a couple of things but really minor drama. Went back into the trailer in seconds.
I'm pretty sure today George was with us looking after both of us and that's why it went so well. β€οΈ
Vee having a roll in the arena while Missy is being ridden. Yep, that's how relaxed we are at Laura & The Equines π€
Im not gonna lie it's a bit of a shame that Sindy is in foal as I would have loved to carry on her education and send her into a loving home with kids. She's so good with them ! Oh well ! Next year she'll make a family really really happy that's for sure π₯° in the meanwhile she's enjoying being a happy hacker to keep her fit until baby bump gets in the way π
Well I guess that's it ! Sindy is backed π₯³
Walk, trot, canter on her own with a rider.
Now let's just perfect things a bit more in the school !
This girl is so promising π, she was the quickest and easiest backing I've ever done ! π€ (all the credit to George though because I haven't got on her once)
