Jasper is always where I am and doing what I’m doing here at Paddock Ponies. He’s fantastic at his job with children and young people. He’s always curious, knows his boundaries and my favourite - loves muzzle kisses and tummy scratchies when offered! 🥰🥰

Trying on new fly masks, Jasper is not impressed….he will be glad if we get some extra hot weather! We are hoping to built a foot spa for them to keep them cool!

Many different people benefit from these services including;
>the home educated
>those struggling with school
>those unable to be in school
>neurodivergent(Autism, ADHD)
>those with high anxiety
>those with other needs who may benefit from 1-2-1 eg PDA, SM

Brilliant that there are many more studies taking place. Providing information to the study of human-animal interactions would be the reason you have an option to fill in a questionnaire before you start and when you finish sessions here at PP. The more people know about the benefits, the more funding to access services for vulnerable young adults.

🐎🐱 to our 2021 literature review on animal-assisted interventions (AAI) for autism. The field of AAI research for autism doubled between 2016-2020, with 43 new studies being published!

🔍 While the field expands, it is important that we maintain good research practices. Incorporating more methodological rigor in studies, such as control groups, will help ensure greater research reliability.

Thank you so much to the amazing Shelley Cliffe for a donation of rubber mats, the boys approve so far! The rest will be fitted tomorrow so the whole barn will be covered. They provide a little extra warmth over winter, is less abrasive to lie down on and it supports joint and ligament health by providing a bit of give with each hoof step in the barn!

Mental Health Matters - let’s get out in nature and move about!

Movement is important for our mental health. But it's not as simple as: 'the more I move, the better I feel'.

While physical activity releases 'feel good' hormones, there's much more to it than this.

Taking part in activities we enjoy and are fun can help us get more of the mental health benefits of movement. We also know that nature and social connection are good for our mental health - so getting active with others and getting outdoors can also give us more benefits.

Told my boys all about carriage driving when I got home…again 😂 they’re practicing standing for long lengths of time at junctions and getting used to harnessing up! New bridles fitted today and the new bit was a winner 🙏
