How to know when it’s too hot for your dog 🐾

With the oncoming heatwave, make sure you’re keeping your fur-babies cool! Here a few tips on how you can do that:

-cooling mats
-cooling vest/bandanas
-dog friendly ice lollies
-frozen kong recipes
-keep out of direct sunlight
-walk first thing in the morning or last thing at night

Also recognise the signs of heat stroke in your dog, just in case, the early signs are:

-excessive panting
-stumbling
-excessive drooling
-vomiting
-diarrhoea

If your dog has medical problems, is obese, is active, working or hunting, is a senior dog/very young, a northern breed (Akita, Malamute, Samoyed or husky) or a flat-faced breed (bulldog, shih tuz, pug etc) are more at risk of heat stroke!!

Rosie (st Bernard) & pepper (Labrador) came in for a pamper with me today after having their babies!

Meet the best boy Bert! A Basset Fauve

A well needed hand stripping is what this pooch asked for and with what got stripped there is more than enough to make a mini Bert.

Even though he wasn’t too keen on the idea at first this cute fella put on a brave face and thanked me with a cuddle and many kisses (couldn’t have hated it that much!!)
