Had such a busy month celebrating my birthday, while having some time off ill and grooming all your lovely dogs, but I’m back to posting! Here are a few beautiful pups recently 🫶🏼🤩🐾

SO so happy with today, I came second in Asian fusion under 7s in Salon groomer of the year 2024 🤩 I can’t believe it, I entered to try something new and absolutely loved it! Barney was a star and I couldn’t have ask for a better boy to groom Im so proud of him. Thank you to my judge for such helpful feedback and I can’t wait to try out those tips and well done to everyone else in my category with their beautiful grooms!

This past year has been such a rollercoaster, I have been a groomer after progressing from a bather for a year now and Im obsessed with it. I entered Salon Groomer comp 2023 trainee category but didnt place, I had a surgery in April last year that took me 3 months to properly recover and get back into work, I’ve moved to a rent a table and set up as self employed and also finally completed my Level 3 qualification.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported me and helped me progress into the groomer that I am, I love you all ❤️

Hugo the Welsh Terrier came in for his groom, I hand strip the majority of Hugo however he has some sensitive areas which are better for him to be clipped. Look at his before photo! I had so much fun with this groom and we will see you soon little man 🐾✨

Lovely Willow came in today for her groom, what a beautiful face 🫶🏼

Willow is now ready for a Guinness while modelling our st patricks day bandanna for our themed photos 🍀(please don’t actually give your dogs Guinness) 🤣 We loved having her in and can’t wait to see her again soon!

Im very grateful to have gone to Costins seminar to further my skills and education this weekend it was amazing!!! I love going to seminars and expanding my knowledge, there is so much to learn. Dog grooming is not an easy job, it is extremely tiring physically and mentally and isnt only about making your dog look cute, it is also making sure the dogs welfare is coming first, running through endless health checks and a whole lot of patience! However I wouldn’t change it for the world, it’s not just my job its my hobbie and im obsessed 🤪 and as they say “it takes 10,000 hours of intensive practice to achieve mastery”

A few of my gorgeous dogs so far this week 😊
We have the beautiful Milo, the rough collie, it was his first groom at The dog and comb and he smashed it out the park! Such a lovely gentle boy 🐶
We then have Coco the cockapoo, she was such a sop just wanting cuddles non stop (not complaining!).
And finally Gypsy and Petra who were like my little shadows 🥰 🐾

Beautiful Bella came in for her groom today, what an absolute superstar, at only 8 months she smashed it out the park 🥹 Bella had a scissor tidy all over and will be getting her body hand stripped when her hair is ready. You can handstrip certain breeds if they haven’t been clipped before which will leave a rich, healthy coat once the wispy longer hairs are pulled out (this doesn’t hurt the dog). I can’t wait to see Bella again soon 😊🐾

Today my boy Bryn had a maintenance groom 🐾
Maintenance grooms include:
- Bath and brush including a Blueberry facial
- Hair around the eyes tidied up up
- Hygiene areas being tidied
- Nails trimmed
- Paw pads clipped out
- Ears cleaned

There are many benefits of having a maintenance groom in between full grooms, especially for the higher maintenance wool coat types such as cockapoos to make sure knots and matts are being kept on top of. Health checks are also included to make sure no grass seeds are stuck in the skin for example, today I gave my dog a maintenance groom and found 3 thorns stuck in his skin which he had given no indication were there, luckily I found these because of his groom. Maintenance grooms also help with nervous dogs to desensitise, being groomed more regularly helps them to gain trust and gets them used to the sensations, movements and noises. Also they make your dog smell incredible and look even cuter for longer until their next full groom!!! 🐩
