🌳Just had a delightful stroll with Igloo the Cocker Spaniel around the picturesque Dam House.
🦆 Igloo had a blast exploring all the scents and sights, with some adorable ducks even joining in on the fun!
🌊 Igloo was eager to make some new feathered friends, but I gently reminded him that today's adventure doesn't include a swim! Maybe next time, Igloo! 😅🐾

Meet Rory, the adorable Cocker Spaniel🐶❤️
I went to pop in on Rory today for a home visit. From the meet and greet, Rorys mum explained that Rory can be very unsure of strangers and quite anxious 💛
So today, we took things slow, allowing Rory to set the pace. I didn't rush Rory or push him to do things he wasn't comfortable with 🕰
Patience and understanding were key as I aimed to build trust and create a bond with Rory 💛
By the end of our visit, Rory's confidence had visibly grown, and he was able to take a treat from my hand, a true sign of progress. 🎉

Finn shows some leash reactivity while out on walks. It's nothing we can't handle! Understanding that this can stem from various reasons. This may be from either :
Fear or Anxiety: Dogs may become reactive on a leash when they feel fearful or anxious about certain stimuli, such as other dogs, strangers, loud noises, or unfamiliar environments.
Barrier Frustration: Dogs may become frustrated and reactive on a leash when they are unable to approach or interact with other dogs or stimuli due to physical barriers, such as fences or the leash itself.
Walking with a reactive dog can present its challenges, but it's all about patience, understanding, and love. 💖
While walking a reactive dog, I focus on:
1️⃣ Redirecting their attention with positive reinforcement techniques, like treats and praise, to help them feel more secure and relaxed. 🦴
2️⃣ Taking things slow, giving them space when needed, and avoiding triggers are key.
3️⃣ Manage your dog's environment to minimize exposure to triggers whenever possible. This may involve using barriers, visual barriers, or changing walking routes to avoid known triggers.
Remember, every step forward is a victory, and together, we're learning and growing. 🐕✨
