Meet Cookies & Jaffa Cake.

Young bonded male Guinea pigs looking for a forever home.

Cookies - Long Haired (almost 2yrs old)
Jaffa Cake - Short Haired (5 months old)

3ft x 4ft enclosure required as a minimum. We can help with this if required.

Absolute characters! Always popcorning around the enclosure & making me laugh. Cookies is fairly well handled & will eat from your hand. Jaffa Cake is still in training but will take food from your hand 90% of the time now ❤️

Hi 👋

My name is Fletcher! I was rescued when I was just a tiny baby & stayed at FurryTales rescue ever since 🥺

I’m approaching 5 months old now & I think it’s time to move on. I’m pretty shy but friendly & sociable in the early hours of the morning.

I’m living with my foster carer in Huddersfield at the moment but if you feel you could give me my forever home please ask for an application form ❤️

Meet Forest!

He’s a Male Syrian Hamster looking for his forever home.

Forest has a mysterious lack of toes with quite a few missing! It doesn’t seem to affect him with his mobility or ability to navigate his surroundings. He does however sometimes drop the food he’s holding which melts my heart!

He’s just over a year old and he has plenty of love to give. He was a little nervous when we rescued him but he’s happy to take food from our hands and be handled every now and again. He loves exploring and spends a long time everyday out of his burrows. As long as the environment is quiet, he’s really sociable!

He really loves it when I chat to him on a night. He stops what he’s doing as if he’s listening to what I’m saying 😍

He lives in a Pawhut enclosure currently & has previously lived in a Savic Plaza quite happily.

Well tiny baby Fletcher isn't such a tiny baby anymore! He's roughly 8 weeks old now and is the same size as my adult dwarf! So it's time to start looking for his forever home

As everyone who has seen his story will know, he had a very difficult start to life and because of that he needs a patient and experienced owner. He is fine being handled once out of the cage but he's still very nervous in the cage and it will take time and patience to get him sued to coming to you.

He is a little unsure of the world around him and find playpen time a little scary however this is something his new owner will need to work on as he's a chunky boy and will need plenty of exercise. Because he was taken from his mum and siblings very young he's still figuring out how to act like a hamster but he's now figured out how to use his wheel and has been on it a new times. He definitely knows how to use his sand though and loves his giant sand bath

He is currently in a savic plaza and he can come with his cage and everything in it for an additional donation towards the cost of it all.

He is currently living in Bangor, north wales however his foster mum travels at least once a month to widnes so adoption from there is also a possibility

Back in thr game again - in the Manchester branch with Charlotte.

Today this beautiful 9-10 month old male Syrian was surrendered to the rescue.

Let me introduce to you all the super cute Stitch.

He's been exploring his new enclosure since arriving at the rescue.
Stitch lived in a large pawhut style enclosure with his previous owners so we felt it only right he had the same here with us in the rescue 😍

Fletcher is now 5-6 weeks old and will have been with us for 2 weeks tomorrow. He is now a 28g! Which is a huge improvement considering he was only 10grams when he arrived. He is a really healthy weight now and is no longer in a hospital cage. Health wise he has recovered really well but he is understandably very nervous after his awful start to life and he still needs time to learn to trust people before we will start looking for a new home for him. He will definitely need a very special home when he is ready 💗

Some more Fletcher cuteness to brighten your day ☀️

He is weighing in at 14 grams today and is still eating really well! He is building impressive little burrows now and he loves his sand bath. Hopefully not too much longer and he can move from his hospital tank to his new enclosure! Here he is having his first little nibble of cheese and he was definitely a fan!

Baby Fletcher update 🐹💗

What a difference a day has made! On the left you can see him this afternoon and on the right was yesterday. You can see the visible difference in his body shape jist from now having a full tummy, his whole back end was so sunken in yesterday 😢

He is eating really well and very often! I've not seen him drink but I know he definitely is drinking because he has done 2 big wees on my hand last night and this morning 😂
He's weighing in at 12 grams today which is 2g more than yesterday. It is probably mostly just having food in his little tummy now but still a step in the right direction!

He is definitely a fighter and he still has a whole lot of fight in him 💗

*disclaimer - the food in the picture is not his actual diet, we just had a 3 hour drive home with him and coukd see he was starving so went to the nearest place that sold hanster food and got what we could so he could eat straight away*

Today involved a 6 hour round trip to get one of the worst rescue cases I've seen 😔 Fletcher is around 3 weeks old and was sold a week ago. His new owners were very misinformed and whilst they meant no intentional harm, they filled his bowl with bathing dust thinking it was hamster food. Since then he has likely survived by nibbling on the hay in his cage 😢 at only 10grams he is very underweight but he is now safe in one of our foster homes where he will be rehabilitated and given all the love in the world

Please not we are not currently taking any adoption enquires for Fletcher, he has a long way to go before he will be healthy again

Meet our newest arrival Monty! 🐹🐾❤️

Here is a little clip of this sweet boy exploring his new cage!

Sadly Monty has an untreated injury to his eye which has left him blind in 1 eye. Monty is also deaf but despite his disabilities he is such a brave boy and is takes everything in his stride. He is undertandly a little nervous but his foster mum is working hard with him to find ways to communicate with him so he knows when people are there. Due to his disabilities he needed a really experience owner and because of his vision loss the less change the better so he will be staying as a perminant resident at the rescue in one of our lovely foster homes ❤️

Monty needed the damage to his eye and his hearing assessing by a vet and we would really appreciate any donations towards his vet bill! Any amount no matter how small would be greatly appreciated! Our PayPal is [email protected]

Welcome to the rescue pancake 🥞

Pancake arrived at our north wales based foster home last week after being given away for free, she is around 5 months old. Despite not being handled at all by her previous owner, she is a curious girl who is happy climbing onto your hand and coming out of her cage for an explore. She's still a little unsure of strokes and being picked up but she's making amazing progress in the short time she's been in her foster home and she's shown so aggression at all

Pancake will be available for adoption in the next few weeks however she is available for reservation so please send us a message if you'd like to discuss adopting pancake 💗

Meet Liquorice & Allsorts who are currently staying in the FurryTales Huddersfield branch!

We took these 2yr approx (approx) females in exactly a month ago! They have really cheeky personalities and have the loudest cutest “Wheeeks” ive ever heard.

Guinea pigs must live in pairs or groups of the same s*x so we will only rehome as a ‘duo’. These piggies came from a loving home and they were looked after with no previous health issues.

Do you support animals living in enclosures that fully meet their needs?

If you do let’s make a change and sign the below petition to ban the sale of inappropriate animal cages!!!

I would like new legislation to prevent the sale of unsuitable animal enclosures which are currently available to pet owners. The Government should set minimum enclosure sizes for small animals in domestic settings, and ban the sale of enclosures that do not meet these standards.

This is Marble!

He’s a male Syrian Hamster who we have looked after since the 12th November. He has a lovely temperament and doesn’t mind being picked up and handled.

He’s got a very cheeky personality and loves to burrow in deep bedding. He uses his wheel a lot and also responds to your voice if you call his name. He is so laid back with handling he stands still when you go to pick him up to make life easier! He also has a mad half an hour every night and loves foraging for treats scattered in his enclosure.

He needs a big enclosure! 100cm x 50cm. We have set ups available for sale if required ❤️

Check out this AMAZING space display by D&T Veterinary Centre in support of our campaign to demonstrate how much space rabbits actually need.

A lot of rabbit owners are sadly unaware that rabbits need a lot more space than a commercially sold rabbit hutch has to offer.

We always recommend a space of at least 2m x 3m x 1m high. This will provide two buns with the sufficient space they need to hop around and rear on their hind legs.

A hutch can be used as an indoor shelter but never as their sole housing! Ideally, outdoor rabbits should have constant access to safe and secure outdoor space.

This gorgeous Syrian girl is almost ready to find her forever home. She is beautiful we don’t know her age but I’d guess under 1 as she’s still quite small. She a little nervous but likes being handled. She is very nosey in her cage and into everything. Can someone offer this little lady a living home 🐹💖

This is Sophie! She’s a Syrian hamster looking for an experienced owner that is willing to put in some serious bonding time.

She has been with our hamster foster in Huddersfield for a few months and she so sociable and attention seeking, she is the first hamster up at night and the last to go to bed in the morning!

She is ok around humans and your hands but just makes it difficult to pick her up. Once she’s in your hands she’s generally ok but I wouldn’t say she’s fully hand tame just yet. (She’s never bitten)
