🎃🐾 **Halloween Safety Tips for Your Pawsome Pals!** 🐾🎃

Hello, Adventure Tails family! As the spooky season approaches, we want to ensure that our furry friends have a howling good time while staying safe. Here are some top tips to keep your pups happy and healthy this Halloween:

1. **Keep Treats Out of Reach:** Many Halloween treats are toxic to dogs, especially chocolate and those containing xylitol. Make sure to store them away from curious noses!

2. **Choose Pet-Friendly Costumes:** If your dog loves dressing up, pick a costume that's comfortable and non-restrictive. Avoid anything with small, chewable parts or that limits their ability to see, breathe, or move.

3. **Glow in the Dark Gear:** If you're out and about for Trick-or-Treating, consider reflective collars or LED leashes to keep your dog visible and safe in the dark.

4. **Create a Safe Space:** With the doorbell ringing, it can be overwhelming for some pups. Set up a cozy, quiet area where they can relax away from the hustle and bustle.

5. **Watch for Decorations:** Curious pups might be tempted to chew on pumpkins or decorations. Ensure any electrical cords and small items are out of reach.

6. **ID and Microchip:** With doors opening more frequently, make sure your dog’s ID tags are up to date, and consider microchipping for added safety.

Dog Show FAQs
When is the dog show?

October 13th (tomorrow!)
Where is the dog show?

LaurelView Equestrian, Knowehead Road, Templepatrick, BT39 0BX

What time can we arrive from?
1pm.

Please note that entry won’t be allowed until our booked time starts.

What time do the classes start?
1:30pm

Is it indoors?
Yes! We’re not taking any chances with the weather.

Which charity is it for?
Tyrone Husky Rescue and The Barn Animal Rescue Newtownards

My dog wears a muzzle, can they still come?
Absolutely. As long as you’re confident your dog will be happy in the arena surrounded by others and not overwhelmed. Some breeds are required to wear them due to legislation, and that’s fine. However, prong/shock collars are not allowed.

My dog prefers being off lead, is that okay?
All dogs need to be kept on a lead with no exceptions.

Can I advertise my business on the day?
We’ve had amazing support from businesses who have paid for stalls and sponsored the day. These are the only businesses that will be advertising on the day. We ask any other businesses to come along, join in the fun, but respect those who have paid to be there. Sponsorship and stalls are still available.

Can we bring the family?
Yes, make it a day out! The café is open.

We only have a family pet and he’s not really a show dog. Can we still come along?
100%. It’s a charity show, not Crufts! You never know who might catch the judge’s eye. 😍

✨️Holiday Dates✨️

Hello Adventurers!!
I know we haven't even completed spooky season yet 🎃 so talking about Xmas is madness, right!!!? 🎄
Maybe so, but I want to give everyone plenty of notice about our holidays.
For the last 20 months we have been adventuring non stop with all of our wonderful pups (and a few cats, lambs and lizards and 2 turtles!). And we have decided to take a full 2 weeks off for Christmas this year.
We will be closed from Saturday the 21st of December and back with you all in the new year. Thursday the 2nd of January.

Today's walks have been done with a heavy heart as we remember Dave (Lenny's Dad). Dave passed away peacefully last week, surrounded by family. We as a team are heartbroken for Anne and the entire family circle today as Dave was laid to rest. He was a character! Who kept us all on our toes, laughing and rolling our eyes with banter. His love for our Adventurers and all dogs was so strong, always asking after our pups.

Not only do we care for your beloved fur babies, but Demi also volunteers with OLIO, an organization dedicated to distributing surplus food. Demi collaborates with Spring Rain Productions in Glenarm, who provide surplus food through OLIO. She drives 40 minutes each way to collect these meals and delivers them to the community and the MEA Affordable Food Club, which helps families save up to £50 a week on groceries.
She's amazing!!!!! And we'd be lost without her 😍
