I walked the dogs today at Hillsborough Forest park and this is the colour of the water with the blue/green algae.
This can cause serious problems (or death) if your dog is exposed to it so don't let your dogs swim in water like this!

I know it's been raining for the last few days BUT please take your dog to the toilet BEFORE bringing them into the shop......
It's obvious if you haven't as it's the FIRST thing dogs do when they enter, is p*e & poo and it's the LAST thing we want to clean up.
It's also uncomfortable for them to have to hold it in during grooming.

Everyone will be asked when the dog was last toileted before grooming.

Tux & Duchess would like to tell you that we are flat out busy at the moment!

We have some apts 3rd - 7th June
Then 17th June onwards.
We are not accepting new customers at this time.

Please make sure you read your day, time & date on your reminder texts correctly. If you need to cancel, change or think something is incorrect please let me know.

For customers, we have a handful of appointments free at the end of May, start of June.

Price increase from today Mon 8th April

Price increase from 8th April.

Due to an increase in the overall cost of supplies, insurance, electricity & the national living wage, prices will increase by £3 for all dogs.
This is for dogs on a regular 4 - 12 week schedule.
This is about 7%.

I didn't increase prices last year but unfortunately with the increase in living wage coming into force in April this is now unavoidable.

The price increase will be included in all reminder text messages for a few months.

All customers will be asked to sign new terms & conditions from April.
This will include......
🐶general conditions of grooming
🦟 flea policy
❎cancellation & no show policy
🚿matted dog
🤬 aggressive dog policy.

From tomorrow I will be asking all customers to sign updated terms & conditions and confirming all details on their file are up to date.

Dogs are accepted for grooming only under the following conditions:

Health:

Your pet is fit & healthy with vaccinations up to date.
Any grooming of an elderly dog or a dog with health problems will be at the owner’s risk.
The groomer will not be held liable or responsible for irritation, abrasion, patchiness or hair loss due to any pre-existing skin condition or as a result of the process of grooming, de-matting, thinning, stripping or shaving, or any mishap caused by my non-disclosure of my pet’s medical condition or behaviour.
In the event of any health problem, Comb & Bark is authorised to contact a vet and to treat the dog as necessary

Fleas

All dogs must be up to date with flea & tick treatments
If your dog harbours any parasites, you will clear them at your expense
There is a £20 cost for flea bombing the salon.
Full groom payment will be received to cover the appointment slot.

De-matting

De-matting (working through matted coats) may cause patchiness or hair loss, consent to remove the matted hair is this understanding.
Your written permission will be required if your pets coat is too matted to save.
Clipping down the coat dramatically changes the appearance of the dog, as the coat has to be shaved close to the skin. This may expose pre-existing skin complaints due to the lack of air circulating to the skin.
There will be minimum of £10 extra charge to cover the cost of the blade being sharpened

Aggression:

If your dog bites or attempts to bite any person or pet, a muzzle may be used or at the discretion of the groomer,
If your dog is too agressive, grooming may stop
Full payment will be received to cover the lost appointment cost
You will pay the full cost of damages & expense your dog has caused.

Payment:

If you miss an appointment without giving 24 hours notice, you must pay ½ the missed appointment fee before another appointment will be given
Payment will be made as per price quoted
Price depends on size, coat condition and behaviour of the dog during grooming

Collection

Owners must collect dogs at the time stated or within 30 minutes of receiving a text message.
Please reply to our text message to confirm you have received it.
Uncollected pets will be charged a sitting fee of £10 for 30 minutes

Comb & Bark Grooming is allowed to share photos of my dog on social media & on their website. I confirm that all the facts I supplied above are true & I accept & consent entirely to all of the terms & conditions shown.

Name undecided as yet as I've just collected her.
She's an ex breeding bitch at 5.5 years old, I'm her 3rd home in 12 weeks, but she's landed with her bum in the butter now & Tux will be a great big brother ❤️

We love Spaniels!
They were always a popular breed but now we are seeing them more than ever and we just love them!

We now only have a few appointments left before Easter (end of March) so if you think your dog needs groomed in the next 8 weeks, please book it now and don't forget to book your repeat apt before you leave the shop!
We can put you on the cancellation list but there will be people in front of you.
