RSPCA Keighley, Craven & Upper Wharfedale

RSPCA Keighley, Craven & Upper Wharfedale We are a local, independently run RSPCA branch covering the Keighley & Craven District plus over 350 miles of the rural Craven dales.

RSPCA Keighley, Craven & Upper Wharfedale, Registered Charity No. 232237 Our branch is a local, independently run branch covering almost 350 square miles of the rural craven dales. Towns and villages served by the branch include Ilkley, Keighley, Skipton, Barnoldswick, Slaidburn and Settle, Haworth & Grassington. Our branch is run entirely by volunteers, ranging from a team of locally elected trus

tees along with the support of a team of branch volunteers. The branch is almost completely self financing which means that we rely on donations from the public and businesses within our area, all the donations we receive help to continue with our vital work within the branch area. Our animal welfare work includes re-homing cats and dogs in branch care, fundraising and raising the profile of animal welfare issues. Running a branch is obviously very time consuming and our volunteers help us with a range of tasks from fostering animals to answering the phone, from fundraising events to dog walking and administration tasks. Without the help of all our volunteers the branch would not be able to operate, we always need more people to join us and help the branch. Could you spare some time for us? You can find out more on volunteering with us on the branch website. Thank you for taking the time to visit and we hope to see you again soon.

We’re always in need of kind-hearted local people who are willing to foster our branch cats until they find their forever homes. Our waiting lists for cats in need are miles long, and the more foster homes we have, the more cats we can help. If you’re interested in helping a cat find its forever home, please send us an email at: [email protected]. We’d love to hear from you!

Our branch will be taking a little break from Monday, December 23rd, until Thursday, January 2nd. If you have any urgent animal welfare concerns, please search 'RSPCA report cruelty' for further advice. We'd love to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and also say a great big thank you to the team of inspectors and animal welfare officers at RSPCA (England & Wales) for all their passion and dedication to animal welfare. Thanks for all you do for our furry friends! Further thanks go to everyone who supports us; our amazing branch volunteers, incredible cat foster carers, Willows Wags & Whiskers who care for our cats that are not in foster care, Rspca Lancashire East who care for our dogs on our behalf, the fantastic team at Ashlands Veterinary Centre for their excellent care & advice on our branch animals, our thanks also to anyone who donates to support our branch and to the very kind & loving people who have adopted from us and given a rescue animal a second chance at a happy home. We've also received some unexpected donations this year from local businesses & supporters, and we really appreciate all your support. We couldn't do what we do without you all. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Maura is a gorgeous young tabby girl who is growing in confidence daily. She was initially quite timid but she now loves a fuss from her foster carer. She would benefit from someone who can dedicate time to her. Maura could be suitable to be rehomed as a house cat, or she could eventually go outside under supervision in a safe area that’s away from any busy roads. Could you be the one who shows Maura what love and happiness are all about? Please visit our website for further pictures and information: rspca-craven.org.uk

*CHRISTMAS APPEAL*

Could you make a donation to support your local branch this Christmas? We always have many hungry cats and dogs to feed, and the rising costs put a strain on our finances. Regardless of the amount you can donate, every penny truly makes a difference and is greatly appreciated. We can accept pet food at our collection points in Morrisons Keighley (by the front door) or Tescos in Skipton (by the tills). Cat food in particular would be most appreciated (Tesco/ Morrisons/Aldi brand wet in jelly are ideal) and cat biscuits too. Food donations help us by saving our vital funds to use on vet bills (all our animals, especially the ones that come in via the inspectors, always need the basics or even more). We also use funds to help with neutering publicly owned cats - we desperately need to help reduce the number of unwanted or abandoned kittens. We’d like to say a MASSIVE thanks to the generous people who donate to our branch throughout the year. Your kindness is really appreciated. With your support, we are committed to helping as many cats and dogs as we can. We can all make a real difference in the lives of our furry friends. Our branch is run entirely by volunteers. If you would like to join in and help, please do get in touch. We would love to hear from you. Thank you! 🐱 🐶 🎄

Ruby is a pretty girl who likes showing off her friendly nature and likes having a fuss. She comes from a multi-cat home but will be fine to be rehomed separately. Ruby was always kept indoors, but since she’s only young, she may want to go outside initially under supervision but not forced if she doesn’t want to. Ruby deserves a loving home, and we really hope she isn’t waiting too long for her happy ending. Please visit our website for more information on all of our cats: rspca-craven.org.uk

Our adorable three-year-old girl Molly is ready for her new home. She would prefer to be an only pet in an adult household or perhaps with older children. Molly is gaining confidence in foster care and would benefit from someone who can allow her to settle in at her own pace. If you’re able to provide her with a loving home, please visit our website to find out more: rspca-craven.org.uk

We have 10 calendars left if anyone still wants any. They would make a great little present for someone and only £5 plus P&P. They are A4 landscape, 13 months and spiral bound - great quality. If you order before Wednesday, they should be received before Christmas. Once the last 10 have gone, we won’t have any more. 🧑‍🎄 🎄

DIXIE is a bright, healthy, and happy girl aged approximately 7 years old. She would make an ideal companion for someone, especially as a house cat. Dixie really deserves a loving home of her own - Could that be with you? Find out more about her (and all of our other cats) on our branch website: rspca-craven.org.uk

Gorgeous Violet is 2 years old and still looking for her new home. She has lived with other cats previously but could also be rehomed on her own too. She is confident and friendly and likes to greet visitors. Violet was an indoor cat, but as she’s only young, she might want to go outside under supervision in a safe area away from busy roads. Could you offer her a new home? You can view her full listing on our website: rspca-craven.org.uk

This evening at 7pm, The Red Lion Earby is kindly hosting the annual Christmas cake, cheese, and port evening. All funds raised from the cake sales will be donated directly to our branch. A big thank you to Dave Birnie for making the cake. Why not treat yourself and help us to support local vulnerable animals at the same time? We hope to see you there.

Thank you to Ashlands Veterinary Centre and their wonderful clients for all the food and pet supplies that have been generously donated so far. We truly appreciate all your support, it’s such a help to our branch. The donation tubs are now empty, and there’s still room if anyone would like to drop off any additional supplies. Your support enables us to continue providing care for local vulnerable animals. Thank you so much! 🐱 🐶

We have lots of adorable cats who are all looking for their forever homes. While we don’t re-home pets as presents, we do understand that Christmas can be a great time to adopt since people often have more time off from work. If you’d like to provide a loving home to one of our cats, please have a look at our website for more information: rspca-craven.org.uk
