I've been flat out, 10 hour days for past 6 days, only 5 more to go then I can breath easier 😶‍🌫️

I'm 6 years older than when I first started the business and boy oh boy the body shouts louder these days 😶‍🌫️

Tomorrow we empty and move 10 commercial shop freezers
Monday we have the walk in freezer emptied, dismantled and moved rebuilt and extended

I've had the smoke detector alarms going off randomly in the new place that shouldn't be.
Staff toilet decided to stop working.
Electrics that needed making safe by my electrician 😳
Strip lights needed replacing as they were flouresant & yellow not Led.

Plug sockets lowered for freezers and extra sockets installed.

Powerfull enough Wiring added for the mahoosive wall in freezer.

That's before we add shelving, till counter.

Tomorrow I have to scrub a floor the ole fashioned way, on my knees with a scrubbing brush 😭

Taking on a commercial lease is unbelievably hard, like walking through a lawless town.

But just look at this room, I love it!
This will be the workshop/seminar/puppy pre-school room.
This is the only room I don't have to touch ❤️

Still so much to do and it's Friday tomorrow, 4 days off opening 🙈

So the first sign has gone up yay!
Always a tricky bit. On first glance I thought it's too small BUT then realised I have more to come.

I'm having graphics added to the canopy and the windows & doors frosted, with added subtle txt

The worst thing about this picture is the hideous yellow paint.
Sadly can't fix that until the weather changes (spring) when there's less damp in the air to paint.

Look at that lovely grassed area and it's all mine. Ideal for a picnic bench in the summer 😎

Sneaky peek time 🧐
Just one of my many rooms

At the back will house all the shop freezers and to the front (not in the shot) will be the retail area
Electrician currently doing a fab job.

I have a separate warehouse the other side of the wall which is mahoosive that will house the big walk in freezer that's being built on Monday. So no more noisy freezer in the shop area, hooray!

All the signage going up in the next few days.

This place is like a rabbit warren, I'm not kidding!

It won't be as perfect as I'd like on opening because I cannot be closed for a whole week when I've all my customer dogs to feed.
It's already a tight squeeze on the opening deadline.

I'm having to do it as I go along, not great for a fuss-pot like me 😂

Very interesting informative read.

Hello Facebook friends.
Do you want your dog to live a longer, healthier life and avoid expensive injuries? If so, you need a planned exercise program. It takes only about 10 minutes three times a week. Here’s how to accomplish that.
EVALUATE YOUR DOG’S FITNESS The best way to evaluate your dog’s current condition is to stand your dog in a square position and feel the size and tone of the six large muscle groups demonstrated by the colours in the attached figure of a well-muscled Greyhound: 1. The large muscles of the front legs surrounding the shoulders and upper arms (dark green) 2. The core muscles, including: a. the paraspinal muscles - those on either side of the spine (red) b. the lateral abdominal muscles (purple) c. the ventral abdominal muscles (orange) 3. The large muscles of the rear legs, including the quads (blue) and the hamstrings (light green).

How big are they? How firm are they? Compare your dog’s muscle size and tone from left to right, are they equal and firm?
Try to determine whether there are imbalances between various muscles. Are the front leg muscles stronger than those of the rear legs? That can indicate a subtle but chronic rear limb or spinal injury. Are the quads stronger than the hamstrings? That imbalance is quite common but also concerning because it increases the risk of cranial cruciate ligament injuries. Are the core muscles weaker than the muscles of the front or rear legs? The core muscles are essential in coordinating all the complex movements of the spine and the timing of front and rear leg movements, so you’ll want to make sure they are strong enough to do their jobs.

STRENGTH/RESISTANCE TRAINING for dogs involve movements of the body over short distances. The resistance component can come from the dog’s weight or from tools that resist movement such as water.
Here are the three rules for strength training:
1. Exercises should be targeted to strengthen the specific muscles that are weak.
2. The exercises should be as non-impact as possible.
3. To build a muscle’s strength, it must be worked to overload
The rules for strength training explain why taking your dog for walks on lead, although essential for your dog to experience the joy of the sights, scents, and sounds of nature, is not sufficient to build strength. That is because walks do not target the specific muscles that need work, they are not non-impact, and your dog won’t go into overload before you personally are tired of walking.

BODY AWARENESS TRAINING exercises improve your dog’s ability to know exactly where all the parts of its body are in space. The nervous system connects the muscles and joints to the spinal cord and brain to allow your dog to make coordinated movements such as landing from a jump. One of the best and most deceptively simple body awareness exercises is to have your dog walk very slowly through a ladder laid on the ground—using lots of treats, of course!

By incorporating strength and body awareness training to your dog’s care program just two or three times a week, you will be amazed at the changes in your dog’s strength and coordination. You will see fewer injuries, and a longer, healthier life. And who doesn’t want that for their canine companion?

Eeeekkkkk
It's all now become very real today 😳 the lease is signed & sealed

I have to say at this moment In time, I have never known such stress and frustration as to that of moving a business to my capacity.

I have spent 2 days of endless phone calls to constantly be told "the computer says x y z" 🫤
Red tape.... 😭

Let me tell you, it's not all roses around the door, far from it.

But what i will say is, belief and passion & proof drives me forward!
If you present me with a big, fat red buzzer that state's "Do not press" then I'll press it 😂

Because I want the very best for our dogs, your dogs!
I want you to know and share my knowledge how super easy it is for you to give your dogs a more fulfilling nutritional life, that's super easy.

Let's break down those stuffy barriers to raw feeding.

I'm looking super forward to the journey ahead and your company ❤️

If your dog needs to stay on a single protein food or your doing an elimination diet with them, then ideally you should keep their treats to that same protein too

These JR treats are ideal for just that 👌

A gastric dilation volvulus, commonly referred to as bloat, is a complex thing in some respects. We can try and prevent as much as we can, we cannot necessarily stop it.

That gap between eating and exercise is soooo important. Ok you’re taking your dog for a trot to the end of the road and back, we don’t need to be so full on. But for the dog running and panting we do!

There is some suggestion that for dog doing extremely vigorous and long exercise stints, we give them a 4 hour gap!
