I understand that Christmas isn't a joyous time for all of us. We will also be remembering those who will not be with us 💜

Taking Therapy sessions outdoors can be a great way to get children and young people engaged in meaningful conversations and reconnect with nature.

Tuning into their interests, what feels important to them and building on their personal skills. This can be a great way to explore how they are feeling using a range of different activities.

I love getting young people's input and ideas 💡 Not only does it get them engaged and involved with what we do during sessions, but it encourages them to think outside the box and makes it more fun. If we can train them to do it and the animals are keen, why not! 🫶

Rolo loves curling up on his blanket in the therapy room, supporting clients with their young handler books. This can be a great way to explore, reflect and gain understanding around the animals and themselves, in order to support one another 🐾💜

I couldn't help but share this... Betty starting a game of tag with Tyson. These two together make quite the pair! 🥰🐑

Rolo loves his Therapy Dog Training! Today we've been working on focusing in public spaces. Rolo is deaf, so works off hand signals. Constant communication is essential to set him up for success. There was a lot of visual and scent distractions 🐾 Well done Rolo ! 🙂

🐑 Animal Assisted Therapy 🐾 Interacting with animals can have many benefits: ⭐ Reducing stress & anxiety ⭐ Improves self esteem ⭐ Getting involved with training can help with problem solving, communication and provide a great feeling of achievement. ⭐ Builds empathy & emotional regulation Here Tyson has been learning 'go around' which he's learnt through target training. Interactive activities like this can help build trust and connection 🐑
