My boy Winston's first visit to Barry Island π He LOVED it!
I've introduced him on my personal page but realised I havent done introductions here!
Big man arrived two weeks ago after a long trek from Cyprus. He'd ended up as a stray in a municipal pound and was then taken in by a fantastic charity over there that helps with the 10s of thousands of stray and abandoned dogs on the island. He was fostered with them for 4 months before I spotted his post on their Facebook group and 6 weeks after that, he was Barrybados bound!
Winston is settling in extremely well so far. We suspect he hadn't lived in a house as part of a family before he was rescued, he's around 2 years old but EVERYTHING is new to him. It's like having an enthusiastic, inquisitive 30kg puppy. My cats (Luna, Stan and Ollie) have done the cat equivalent of a shrug - they aren't bothered by the new addition, he just needs a bit of time to learn to be calm around them.
He had a week at home decompressing after his journey and getting used to me and his new surroundings. This week he's joined me on a couple of group walks and he's fitted straight in. He loves other dogs and humans and is quickly learning his boundaries.
Here's to lots of adventures Winston!
