📣Attention Keki's Guinea Pig Rescue C.I.C 📣

So I have been getting a few phone calls and messages regarding the sub zero temperatures that we currently have and their Guinea Pigs and Rabbits being outdoors. 🐹🐰🥶❄️🌨

I want to take this opportunity to re-assure you all that providing that you take the appropriate measures they will be fine outside still. It is much better to try to keep them outside than bring them in and move them straight back out once it warms up again. Because if you bring them in they will have to stay indoors until late spring.

The things that you can do to help keep them warm and safe in the meantime whilst we have these cold temperatures are as follows:
* Use Straw as a base layer, then bulk out with lots and lots of hay
Spot clean daily and remove any wet straw and hay, then top up with fresh (twice daily with the hay if needed)
* Use a cardboard box filled with straw then hay as extra insulation
use thermawrap as extra insulation underneath the raincovers. if you do not have access to this use an old duvet or thick blanket
* Use the snugglesafe microwave heatpads
* Change water bottles AM & PM
* Do not use Fleece bedding in these temperatures outdoors as they will get damp or worse freeze
* Remember Garages and Sheds can still get extremely cold unless they are heated, so please use all the above to help keep your furry's warm and safe.
* If you have any concerns about you furry pets health please contact your vet immediately. Do not leave it.

🐾✨ *Exciting Announcement from Our Non-Profit Guinea Pig & Rabbit Rescue!* ✨🐾

We are thrilled to introduce ourselves as a community interest company (CIC number 16165553) based in Basingstoke, Hampshire! Our journey began in March 2023 when my husband and I welcomed our adorable guinea pigs, Messi & Yoda, into our home. This experience opened our eyes to the pressing need for more rescues, and thus, our mission began!

At our rescue, we lovingly accept all guinea pigs (or as we affectionately call them, "squeaky pigs") and rabbits, providing a safe space with no judgment. Our goal is to find them loving 5-star homes where they can thrive. 🏡❤️

In addition to rescue, we offer boarding services, grooming, and bonding sessions for your furry friends. Every penny earned goes directly back into helping our rescue animals.

As a community interest company, we also provide volunteer opportunities, work experience, and organise community events. Join us in making a difference for these wonderful creatures!

Good afternoon Keki's Guinea Pig Rescue

🌟 **Exciting News from Keki’s Guinea Pig Rescue!** 🌟

We are thrilled to share that Keki Guinea Pig Rescue is committed to helping our community in every way we can. As many of you know, we have teamed up with Helping Dogs and Cats CIC and Helping Wildlife. Together, our mission is to support not only the animals in our care but also our local community.

Today, we are proud to announce that Keki Guinea Pig Rescue has received our CIC number, meaning we are officially a Community Interest Company! 🎉 This new status allows us to apply for funding to support the running of our rescue and gives us the opportunity to give back even more to our community.

We will be offering voluntary roles and are excited to support Helping Dogs and Cats CIC with their Food Bank. Together, we will be extending the Food Bank services to include rabbits and guinea pigs!

This is a fantastic step forward for us and our new trustees, and we can't wait to see the positive impact we can make together!

So even though this week has been a good week with guinea pigs going to their new homes, today has been yet another extremely sad and emotional day here at the rescue. We found Hans, our Eldest resident in his forever sleep.
A few of us have found this extremely hard as he was so loved by us all and so friendly with everyone. But at 8.5yrs old and after being with us for coming on a year we know that he has lived his best life and has been so spoilt. xx🐹💔🌈
