Mother & daughter team Helen & Catherine spend all their time together talking, planning, sharing, making, creating, doing and going weak at the knees for ‘stuff’. Both with an absolute love for anything cute, fun, stylish, quirky and at most whacky the pair have always had an eye for creativity. This year they decided to finally stop dreaming and start doing and have decided to join forces to bri
ng you ‘HelCat’. Read on to find out more and discover what all the fuss is about. Why ‘HelCat’ we hear you ask? Well quite clearly a mix of Helen and Catherine’s names but we promise you it’s not as boring as that. Helen and Catherine are complete cat maniacs and always have been. Not everyone likes our furry, bird loving, often lazy and sometimes selfish friends but you could put an image of a cat on a the bottom of a shoe and Helen and Catherine would fall in love with it. Those who are cat owners will understand, those who are not - it doesn’t matter, this is not about cats you are just in the middle of a generous sized helping of digression.. Helen has a cat called Tinkerbell who is probably up there with the fattest cats that ever lived (although you must never say that to Helen’s face). The big black and white lump is a lady with a silk fur coat who owns the kingsize bed and refuses to leave or enter the house grounds unless is is via the gate that has been opened for her. She is the sweetest, most affectionate feline but really does take lazy to the next level (you’ve probably guesses already, but she also loves treats). I’m sure you’ll be surprised to hear, Catherine also has a cat. Timothy is the sweetest ginger kitty not dissimilar to Puss in Boots (you know, the big eyed cat from Shrek) and a bit of a wimp if the truth be known… Unfortunately anyone who has ever crossed this cat knows that this isn’t really true. ‘Timothy the bastard’ as he is officially known, has a slight split personality. vets, cattery owners and professionals alike adore him and shower him with words of affection that include ‘adorable’ ‘sweetest’ ‘cutie’ ‘lovely’… then he gets home! With history of attacks that have included eye brow biting, ankle grabbing, head attacking and more, the name ‘HelCat’ pays tribute to Timothy the Bastard. The cats did have to be mentioned, but we do promise, this is not about cats! So now we’ve figured out ‘why HelCat?’, I still hear you confused about ‘what actually is HelCat?’. HelCat is quite simply the brand used for Helen & Catherine’s ideas, inspiration and products. Not too dissimilar to magpies, Helen and Catherine are attracted to anything that looks nice, shouts ‘hey Iook at me’ or could be described as quirky, unique, bizarre or curious (glitter sometimes helps with this). We hope you enjoy!
