National Microchip Month aims to raise awareness of the importance of microchipping your pets and keeping your and your pet's details up to date.

The process of microchipping pets arrived in the UK in 1989 and quickly became internationally regulated and one of the best ways to keep your pet safe.

In 2016, it became compulsory in England, Scotland and Wales, with a fine of £500 for owners that didn’t get their pet microchipped in the allowed time.

Time after time it has been proven that having your pets micro chipped is quickest and most effective way to identify lost pets, resulting in families being reunited.

Therefore June is the best time to check out your pets chips and update anything that needs updating.

All of the puppies!!!!

Pups all chipped ready for their new homes 🏡🐕

Whether you’re a licensed breeder or have decided to have a litter of puppies (or had an accident!) it can be a nightmare hauling litters as big as this (8 of one 9 of the other!) to the vets to get them microchipped.

They must be chipped legally by 8 weeks. Between 6.5-8 weeks is ideal as they’re a little bigger by then.

What better way to do this than in the comfort of your own home. It’s also less stressful for pups who also aren’t keen on cars!

It’s already the law that all puppies must be chipped by 8 weeks - so happy this is now becoming the law for cats (they must be chipped by 20 weeks)
