The Highland Hounds is a dog walking service based around the Polkemmet Country Park area. The local walks for your every day walking needs, whether you're breaking the working day up or you just need a helping hand! And then we have the Adventure Walks! These walks offer your dog(s) the opportunity to explore Scotland, we can tailor it specifically for your dog, so if they want to bag some Munros

or go swimming in Loch Lomond, we can provide that! We cover a large majority of towns and villages in the West Lothian and surrounding areas for our local walks (Bathgate, Armadale, Whitburn, West Calder, Shotts, Livingston, Polbeth plus lots more!). The Adventure Walks are available to everyone and anyone from Central Scotland, so feel free to get in touch about bookings and we can work something out! At the moment we're available weekends and some weekdays only! Feel free to check our availability on the Book Online tab! We'll be operating full time as of March 2017.

Beinn a' Chaorainn & Beinn Bhreac with George up in the Cairngorms, the ancient Caledonian forest was incredible, great to see the regeneration since I was last up there, makes a huge difference to the landscape 190/282 (and only 6 of the 55 Cairngorm Munro's to go!)

Unfortunately this morning we said goodbye to Boston. I feel very lucky to have rescued this boy and watched him grow old with me, something I'll forever be grateful for is the years we got with him, particularly after a tough start to his life followed by some close calls - one involving a corn in the cob and the other going missing on a mountain. It's been a life full of adventure with a relaxing final chapter on the couch. He was a good boy, one of the best!

Black collie spotted running on Starlaw Road causing traffic to stop. Pulled over and made an attempt to secure but the dog was nervous when approached. I haven't seen any missing dog reports but this was around 16:40. I've alerted police but please be careful if you're on that road and feel free to tag/share with any local missing dog groups.

Another wee Munro update too for those following along. On Saturday I climbed the Sgùrr nan Conbhairean round of three Munro's from Loch Claunie, Kintail. Great mountains with excellent views across towards Glen Shiel. First photo was taken looking across Loch Loyne. 186/282.

No dogs due to wanting to take an exposed route but I know some have been following my Munro bagging journey so thought I'd share some photos. Down to my last 99, excited to be down to double figures! This was the Forcan Ridge in Kintail.

I was joined by Lewis a client and occasional volunteer and his dogs earlier this year in possibly one of the wettest days in my 6 years walking dogs. Some lovely film photos taken by him capturing the dogs having the best time in the rain and puddles.
