The shoot regularly produces high quality downland pheasants and sits alongside a commercial arable farm with a small pedigree herd of Sussex Cattle. We are looking for a seasonal ghillie to assist our Head Keeper with walked up shooting and red stag stalking with guests. Work will commence at the beginning of the grouse season and will cease after the 20th October 2024. Suitable candidates will have their Argo ticket and First Aid ticket.

In addition to shooting/stalking roles, the candidate will be required to undertake basic estate maintenance tasks as directed by the Head Keeper including painting, vegetation clearance and wood splitting among other tasks. Work will be provided 6 days per week.

Head Gamekeepers Position, Argyll
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious gamekeeper on a private Estate in Cowal, Southern Argyll from early 2025.
The 6,000 acre Estate is family owned, and a well renowned and successful Pheasant and Partridge shoot has been developed by the Shooting Syndicate over approx. 1,000 acres. The Syndicate undertakes approximately 35 driven days shooting each season.
The successful applicant must have a minimum 5 years’ experience in the shooting/land management industry and the self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team or on their own. The Estate prides itself in the quality and ‘experience’ of its sport and is keen to further develop the high reputation of the shoot. The successful applicant must be reliable, ambitious and pro-active in their work ethic.

The role will be varied and not limited to traditional gamekeeping and therefore the successful applicant will need to be open-minded and willing to tackle new challenges.
Applicants must also have a full UK driving license, valid shotgun and fi****ms certificates along with ATV, sit-astride and chainsaw certificates. Further training will be provided as required.

Glenavon Estate is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Estate Administrator to join our team. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to work in a stunning natural environment while supporting the smooth operation of our estates.

The successful candidate will be based at the Birchfield Estate office on Glenavon Estate near Tomintoul and provide administrative support to the Gamekeeping and Agricultural teams on Glenavon Estate and the Gamekeeping team on Braulen Estate.

Main Duties include carrying out administrative tasks related to the day to day running of the estates including game shooting, fishing, and other estate and farming activities. Duties also include assisting with book-keeping, invoice processing and arranging repairs for the estate lodges, together with maintaining accurate records of bookings, visitor information and estate activities including property repairs. The management of holiday cottages including bookings and invoicing. The Administrator will coordinate with estate Factors, gamekeepers, and other staff to ensure seamless operations. To contribute to financial reporting and data management processes.

The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for internal and external enquiries, communicating effectively and efficiently. Good communication, organisational and IT skills are essential. Previous experience of working within an agricultural, sporting or property business would be advantageous.

This is a part-time position working approximately 30 hours per week.

Estate Game Rearer Required – Partridge

A Game Rearer is required to join the team as soon as possible to aid in the running and development of the game rearing enterprise producing high quality Partridge in Northern Cumbria. The first-class facilities include modern equipment from Bristol Incubators, Setters and Hatchers.

The post would involve working as part of a team and the applicant must have previous rearing experience. Day to day tasks include;
• Partridge production from egg and day-old chicks to release pen.
• Daily egg collection from laying stock.
• Erecting of the rearing units.
• Sanitisation, maintenance, er****on of rearing units and associated equipment each season.
• Housing chicks direct from hatchery.
• Daily welfare tasks on rearing field – gas supply, feeding, watering, cleaning.
• Maintenance of strict biosecurity at all times.
• Basic record keeping, namely stock numbers, mortality, medication, received/administered, feed/water usage.
• Catching-up and delivery of poults to client and shooting estates.
• Dismantling rearing units/equipment ready for next rearing season.
• General upkeep of the rearing field/facilities.
• All other ad-hoc duties as may be required by the job role.

Good communication skills and the ability to manage and maintain good relationships on the estate are of high priority to the owners.

Within the role, some Game Keepering opportunities may also become available should some new drives be implemented on the family-run Estate over farmland and woodlands.

Interim/full-time stalker/caretaker and part-time housekeeper/cleaner
Our family-owned, but commercially run, sporting estate in Wester Ross wishes to recruit, on an interim basis, a couple (or two individuals) with relevant experience from mid-August 2024 to end February 2025. The positions may be extended depending on future needs of the Estate.
The Estate extends to c. 11,250 acres of open hill on which stalking is the principal sporting activity, with loch and river fishing for salmon, sea trout and brown trout. There are three properties on the Estate which are let out as holiday lets to sporting and other tenants.
The main duties will be maintaining and cleaning the properties in between lets, stalking and undertaking other sporting activities with tenants and the family and maintenance of the Estate properties, gardens, paths, woodlands and road. Single handed Partridge Keeper Florida

We are looking to recruit a Single-Handed Partridge Keeper for our 4,000-acre ranch in Florida. Amistad Ranch has a British style driven partridge shoot that has been developed over the past 12 years. We shoot approximately 18 driven partridge days per year. There are 12 named drives. The shoot is fully resourced with equipment and the owner is a very keen shooter. The position would need at least five years’ full-time keepering experience and ideally the credentials to gain a US work visa. Habitat management along with high levels of Predator control is a key component of the position as is the ability to take charge of a team of beaters. Great opportunity for someone to continue to develop the shooting with an enthusiastic owner. There is a good house and good equipment. Excellent salary and benefits for the right person.
