*CODE OF CONDUCT*
As a welfare focused pet care provider, ethics are at the heart of our service 💖
In the UK, we have a piece of legislation called "The Five Welfare Freedoms", which sets out that all animals in captivity have the right to live with the following 5 freedoms:
*Freedom from pain
*Freedom from distress
*Freedom from hunger and thirst (with a species appropriate diet)
*Freedom from discomfort
*Freedom to perform species appropriate behaviour
In line with this respected legislation, we use the kindest handling methods, never those intended to cause intimidation, distress, or pain - i.e. we will not grab the scruff of any animals neck, use any startle tactics such as rattle cans or water or citronella sprays, or use any painful collars such as prong or shock collars. We will ensure animals in our care have access to a clean and comfortable area where they feel safe to relax, a clean and accessible area where they are comfortable to eat and drink, and an appropriate place to toilet. We will encourage appropriate outlets for species appropriate behaviours and can expand species appropriate enrichment available for the animal.
