If you ever wonder where our disabled hedgehog live, they have their very own little village! If anyone has any garden ornaments they would like to donate the hedgehogs love having little things to hide behind! Although hedgehogs are thought to be solitary animals, we actually find that they would much rather like to cuddle up together when sleeping for extra protection and warmth. We have captured them on camera catching food for eachother, looking after eachothers young and making nests.
Squishy has come to our rescue as a permenant resident due to the fact he is blind, such a lovely character and looking forward to having him here. We will be planting some big leaf plants in the pens to give them some cover and some hide outs.
Two little ones out for a stroll while we clean up.

Today's quick check up
So our Bee experience is real now. Collected the bees and hive set up late last night. Will be doing up dates on our journey. We have one full hive and a spare one ready to go in case I need more space as the hive was brimming with lots and lots of bees. They have already started bringing back pollen this morning so I'm glad they seem to be settling in.
Meet our Dutchess, our resident disabled hedgehog. She's woken up again from hibernation and very hungry. We estimated she was 4 or 5 when we first treated her and she's been with us for just over 4 years.
Dutchess has been hibernating on and off and this burns alot of fat to keep going into and our of hibernation so she has lost a lot of weight. She woke up this evening so I habe brought her in for some much needed fattening up and will keep her in the warm til she's at a safe weight to go out again. Bacuse she is an elderly hog she struggles to maintain her weight on normal food we give the hedgehogs. Please make sure you are putting out cat biscuits for the hoggies visiting your gardens and water of course. Alot of then will need the food and so many are not hibernating as its been so mild and really need your support. If you habe Aby questions on how you can support the hedgehogs visiting your garden please message ne and I'll be happy to help.
