Biotech startup Loyal is developing an anti-aging drug called LOY-002, designed to extend the healthy lifespan of dogs by at least one year. The daily, beef-flavored tablet targets metabolic dysfunction linked to aging, with the aim of enhancing dogs' overall quality of life.
Having raised over $120 million in funding, Loyal plans to conduct large clinical trials involving roughly 1,000 large and giant dogs in 2024 or 2025, with aspirations to bring the product to market by 2026.
