Do you prefer a pulled or natural tail look❓
Not everyone likes a pulled tail, it’s a look more common in some countries (like the UK) than others, especially in the showing community. Traditionally tails were pulled by hand, to thin out the thickness at the top and sides giving definition or to improve the shape of the hindquarters. Smart Tails can thin and tidy tails without causing any discomfort. They are totally humane and guaranteed to work on the most sensitive! 💞

TOP TIP TUESDAY - Hot Clothing

Hot clothing is such an underrated grooming practice. During these colder months it’s harder to keeps coats clean, healthy, conditioned and shiny especially if you don’t have access to a hot washer and a solarium. My favourite product to use if the Smart Grooming Super Shine, it leaves the coat so soft and conditioned. The picture is the bucket of water I used to hot cloth my Connemara. He had been fully bathed 5 days prior to this and you can see the grease round the edge and look how dirty the water is. He was left super soft and fluffy, the perfect technique for getting horses clean before clipping. I do this once a week to keep on top of the winter dirt and grease as it builds up under their rugs.

It’s official, I’m definitely crazy! First person on the show ground at Balmoral this morning at 4:45am to get my clients beautiful horses all ready for their classes. Plaiting under the light of a head torch in the pitch black is never ideal 😅 It’s always worth the 3am alarm to see them all riding round the ring at such a prestigious show. Well done to all my Pristine Ponies clients today 🏆
