From Wildlife Aid
“We would like to wish everyone a very safe and happy New Year and to thank you all for your support in 2024.
However, we have one last request of the year: please, consider wildlife, this evening.
The heart-breaking effect of fireworks on wildlife, including increased heart rate and body temperature, demonstrate the panic animals feel, during these events. Many of the animals' first response will be to flee, but with fireworks surrounding them, the risk of injury and road traffic accidents increases.
You can help limit the impact on wildlife by:
🎆Attending public fireworks displays, only.
🪵Creating shelters by leaving log piles and leaves for small mammals to hide in.
⛔️Reducing your speed on the road.”
