💚This is 15 year old Hadrian, a beautiful Ocicat we recently diagnosed and treated for high blood pressure.

💚It’s very simple and painless to check for high blood pressure yet it is critical to screen for it in older cats to protect their kidneys, hearts, brains and eyes from serious damage. They can develop heart disease, kidney failure and even go blind if severe high blood pressure is uncontrolled.

💚 How cute are these girls?! We just had to share them with you! The puppy is Bailey and the kitten is so brand new she doesn’t even have a confirmed name yet!!

💚 At the Lounge Vet we want to help our clients give their new pets the best start in life. This includes making sure they complete their primary vaccination course, are treated for fleas and worms, are microchipped and their owners have access to all the advice they need.

💚 It’s important to plan for neutering if indicated, consider the benefits of pet insurance, and talk about training and socialisation to make sure they develop into well-adjusted and confident individuals.

💚 We hope you and your pets are all well and enjoying the busy run-up to Christmas, not long to go now!

💚 We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients for the great privilege of caring for their beloved pets.

💚 We have thoroughly enjoyed providing your animals with veterinary care on their doorstep, making the experience less stressful for all involved. It has been an extremely busy first few months, but very fulfilling that’s for sure.

💚 We will continue to make ourselves as available as possible over the holidays. Aside from Christmas Eve afternoon, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve Afternoon and New Year’s Day, we will be available if you would like an appointment.

💚 This is the amazing Molly! She is 12 and a half years old, and came to her current owners after being rescued by The Blue Cross in her youth.

💚 She is a gentle giant at 42 kg. She has a heart condition and arthritis, both of which she takes medication for, but she is still enjoying life - making the most of her walks and fuss from her devoted owners.

💚 We go to Molly because getting in and out of the car is no longer an easy task, and it’s much less stress getting the vet to come to you! We love our regular monthly check-ins with Molly and her owners!

💚 She may look all sweetness and light but Daisy has been up to no good causing her owners lots of worry!

💚 We had to come out to see her to give her an injection to make her sick so she would bring up all 6 (yes 6!!) of the mince pies she ate, after seeking out a hidden, unopened box and consuming the whole lot!

💚 Grapes and raisins may be good for us but they are very toxic to dogs, and even a very tiny amount can cause kidney failure in our canine companions. A big price to pay for sneaking a tasty snack.

💚 So beware, especially at this time of year, keep Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, and mince pies all completely out of reach to prevent your pet needing emergency veterinary treatment during the festive period.

💚 Mycroft’s owner asked us to come and visit him as he was becoming increasingly anxious and refusing to get into the car.

💚 As a large breed dog at over 50kg, Pyrenean Mountain Dogs are very susceptible to arthritis in their later years.

💚 Age and chronic pain can exacerbate anxiety significantly in dogs. We are hopeful Mycroft’s monthly injections will help him enjoy his senior years in greater comfort, and help him relax!
