*IMPORTANT PLEASE READ*

Unfortunately we have been notified of a couple cases of kennel cough 😷

Kennel cough is an airway infection that causes a nasty cough in dogs and is very contagious. Main symptoms include a dry hacking cough (like something stuck in their throat) and vomiting white phlegm but sometimes they may have a reduced appetite, discharge in eyes or feel lethargic.

When dogs have kennel cough it usually improves on their own, but senior dogs and puppies may need treatment as their immune systems are not as strong.

Call your vet for advice if you think your dog has kennel cough and symptoms are getting worse. Try a little honey to assist with cough and plenty of fresh water. To avoid further irritation to the throat, try and use harnesses or retractable leads if possible.

Vaccinating is the best way to prevent kennel cough. So if your dog has kennel cough, get them vaccinated and don't let them around other dogs until all symptoms are cleared. Kennel cough can take up to a week to clear but in some cases 2-3 weeks.

We would hate for other dogs to catch this contagious cough so please be diligent and keep your doggie away from daycare and other dogs if they develop any symptoms. Our daycare gets deep cleaned every weekend so will be clean and disinfected by the time all the doggies come back 🤓
