Meet the herd! 🐴
Our horses aren’t just a group—they’re a family. Each one has a role, and together they form a balanced community. Understanding their dynamics helps us provide the best care, ensuring every horse is happy, healthy, and thriving.

We are thrilled to share the completion of our new accessible garden space, now ready for planting and a variety of uses including family activities, space hiring, training, and meditation.
After the unfortunate break-in over the weekend, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their support and kind words—it has meant so much to us.
A special thanks to Gary Ormiston Landscaping, FCC Landfill, and Future Routes NatureScot for their invaluable contributions, as well as our youth club for developing the Skylark and Frog nature walk. We invite everyone to come and explore this new space and see what we’ve achieved together.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. Your support continues to inspire us!

Its Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week 2024!
🌟 Running from September 30 to October 6, this campaign is all about promoting the participation of women and girls in sport and physical activity. It highlights the incredible benefits that come from being active, not just for physical health, but also for mental and social well-being.
This year’s theme is Leadership, encouraging women and girls across Scotland to step up and embrace their roles as leaders in sport and beyond.
At Eat Sleep Ride, we believe in learning from our horses and applying those lessons to leadership. Just as in the herd, we practice shared leadership roles, not ranks. This philosophy is at the core of everything we do, empowering individuals to recognise their unique strengths and support one another in our community.
What will you be doing this week to embrace leadership, support one another, and be active!

Reflecting on Feedback: Strengthening Our Social Value and Community Impact
We recently had the privilege of receiving in-depth feedback from the amazing Emma Liddle at Social Value Lab, and the insights we gained have been nothing short of transformative. 🌟
The session was so rich with information and reflections that we’ve decided to break it into two parts to fully digest and act on what we learned. Here’s what stood out so far:
1. Deep Community Engagement: Our impact in the community is growing stronger each year, with 185 new members joining us, 127 of whom are under 16. This shows the importance of early engagement and the role we play in shaping young lives.
2. Volunteer and Youth Development: We’ve seen a remarkable increase in volunteer participation, with 17 new dedicated volunteers joining our cause. Additionally, our youth are thriving, with 12 individuals receiving Dynamic Youth Awards, recognising their personal growth and achievements.
3. Innovative Programs and Services: This year, we’ve expanded our offerings with new services like Polo Cross tuition and Leadership Experiences based on biomimicry. Our community has also benefited from free therapy services, providing 2160 hours of support to 360 individuals over the past two years.
4. Sustainability and Environmental Impact: We’re not just focused on social impact but also on environmental stewardship. From constructing an off-grid sweat lodge to nurturing a butterfly garden, we’re committed to creating a sustainable and nurturing environment for all.
5. Collaborative Leadership: The feedback session highlighted the power of collaborative leadership. By involving our entire team in decision-making processes, like writing agendas and providing feedback, we’re fostering a culture of shared responsibility and innovation.
We’re excited about the future and what we can achieve with these insights. A huge thank you to Emma and the Social Value Lab for guiding us on this journey

We're thrilled to announce our summer activities program in partnership with Dunbar ASN Community Collective!
This week, we've gained valuable insights from Tracee, the founder of Dunbar ASN, on how to facilitate diverse needs. One of our strategies was to create a video tour for parents, showcasing our yard, safe spaces, parking, and our amazing horses. Actions like these create unity and ensure everyone feels welcome.
Thank you, Tracee, and Dunbar ASN, for your support!
Dunbar ASN Community Collective is a nurturing, supportive community charity for families with children and young people who have additional and complex health and support needs.

Our latest youth club session was truly inspiring!
We paired our young people with adults atrending our barefoot trimming course to come up with a party name campaign and the iissues close to their hearts.
They then presented their ideas to the rest of the group and what changes they would make and why we should vote for them
The results were amazing. From animal welfare to education reform, these young voices are calling for real change. 🌟
Themes they campaigned for:
- Animal welfare: Tighter legislation and quicker response times
- Education: More support in schools, accountability, and shorter school days
- Environmental awareness: More litter bins in schools
- Social well-being: More social time and outdoor activities
- Innovative ideas: A day a week without social media or internet, just nature
We’re so proud of their passion and creativity and it gives us the chance to listen and make these changes happen!
