Looking to ride on BD Youth Regional Teams next year? If so, come along and get the Squad Assessment that you need, next Saturday 21st December at my yard in Bewdley.

These sessions are the first step towards team selection. They're called 'Formal' but really they're not that formal! It's a coaching session where I'll help you in the usual way, and at the end you'll get feedback on aspects like your position, your effectiveness and your influence on your horse's way of going - all the things which judges are looking at for your rider marks during a test so a chance to help you bring those marks up in your competitions! You'll also get allocated to a Squad level ready to go for those teams 😀

Get your Squad assessment done this coming Thursday at Stourport Riding Centre - evening slots available!
A Squad Assessment is not only a really useful coaching and feedback session, it's also a required step if you're thinking of applying for regional teams. The whole BD Youth system is also a fantastic way to develop and measure your progress in a super-supportive environment. Assessments focus less on being able to ride a certain test, and are much more about feedback for you on your position and your way of bringing the best out of your horse.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of helping WMDG riders warm up at the Team Quest Championships. All eight riders were just 10 years old or even younger and they all did a really fantastic job. They stayed calm and focused, and as a result they rode their best tests and were rewarded by achieving fantastic results. All their hard work and consistent training throughout the year has certainly paid off. Well done to all the parents too, as we all know it is certainly a team/family achievement.
I’m looking forward to working with you all through the winter and next year!

I had a chilly but fantastic morning on Friday coaching some wonderful combinations for Bewdley Bridle Club. It was awesome to see you all progressing and developing your skills. Our next session is on Friday 6th December ...with mince pies! 🎄🎅
