Most people would not want to leave their puppies too soon after their arrival into your home. However, life happens, and the odd emergency or pressing appointment means that you will have to seek an alternative care situation so that your puppy is not left alone.
If you know that you will have to spend time away from your puppy in the early stages, you should plan to introduce him or her to a reliable pet sitter, to get them accustomed to the situation when you cannot be there.
At Furry Best Friends we would arrange initial short 10 or 15 minute visits with your puppy, gradually increasing the amount of time. This approach is less of a shock, it also gives us a chance to bond with your puppy and make them pleased to see us and content in our company.

• Transport – clean vehicle and suitable dog crates, we will never leave your dog alone in a vehicle.
• Schedule and time - we will agree an appropriate walking time for your dog.
• Treats and food - we agree with you what’s appropriate for your pet.
• Other dogs - we discuss whether solo or group walks are suitable for your dog.
• Walking safety - on and off lead walking is agreed with you, including muzzles and anything else your dog requires to make a walk safe, comfortable and pleasurable for them.
• Communication - we keep you up to date (with prior agreement) with pictures and updates on your pet during their walk and throughout the day if we are providing you with a sitting service.
We will walk your dog for you come rain or shine. Each dog gets a lovely rub down with a clean personal towel so that they are delivered home to you mud free!
We pick the best walking routes to ensure your pet's can run around, explore and socialise in beautiful surroundings; from rolling hills to woodlands, streams and beaches. We mix the routes up each time to keep it interesting.
My aim is always to give your dog the safest and best walk possible.

Welcome to Furry Best Friends! We provide a dog walking and pet sitting service in the North Devon area. My name is Sally Donnellan and I love animals. I decided to set up Furry Best Friends so that I can care for your dogs and pets when you can't.
I offer a range of services from solo dog walks for dogs who like that 1:1 walking experience to group walks for dogs who love to socialise. I can also offer home visits for cats and dogs. Please see my flyer with a full service list below.
