How H☀️T is too hot?

Dogs don’t handle heat the same way we do, and how they cope varies greatly. Age, breed, size, coat length, fitness, health, and how much they’re exercising all play a role in how well they cope with warmer temperatures.

Some dogs can struggle to stay cool even in mild temperatures. Here are some Taylor Vets Top Tips for staying safe in the sun ☀️👇🏻

• Walk early in the morning or late in the evening when it’s cooler.
• Check the pavement with your hand; if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws!
• Bring water and watch for signs of overheating like panting, drooling, or slowing down.
• Only walk in high temps if truly necessary, and stick to shaded areas for short walks.

‼️ It's important to remember there's no "𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹", so always put your dog’s needs first. ‼️

Here's an update..

As many of you will know I made the decision to stop my daily dog walking service. A decision I took a long time to think about but less daily walking means more time for lots of adventures when I'm dog sitting 😍
