Followers - please note that there has been a confirmed case of Alabama Rot in pulborough rh20. In fields off of gay street.
Alabama Rot is rare but sadly can be fatal.

Tips I have seen online from vets -

🐕 Avoid very wet and muddy areas
🐕Wash off your doggies after walks ( especially feet , legs and bellys.
🐕Keep a look out for any new lumps / sores/ ulcers. Most likely to be on feet , lower body and face.
🐕If your dog suddenly becomes lethargic, has vomitting or diarrhoea this is a symptom.

Keep safe xx

Alabama rot is a rare but serious disease affecting dogs. Find out more about the disease, including how to spot the symptoms and how to prevent it.

🐾 FOOD ALLERGIES IN DOGS 🐾
Just like humans, dogs can develop allergies to the ingredients in their food. A food allergy is when a dog’s immune system reacts inappropriately to one or more of the ingredients in their diet, causing skin and/or tummy issues.

Dogs can develop allergies to any ingredients they have eaten before. They tend to be allergic to proteins (meat or dairy) — most commonly to ingredients used regularly in dog food such as beef, chicken, or lamb. Another ingredient dogs can be allergic to is wheat. Allergies in dogs can occur at any age but most commonly start when they are less than a year old.

🐾 WHEN TO CONTACT YOUR VET 🐾
You know your dog best, always contact your vet if you notice any of the symptoms above. There are many other conditions that can cause these symptoms as well as a food allergy and these problems can be very uncomfortable for your pet, even if they only happen some of the time.

After ruling out other possible causes, your vet may suggest a food trial. This involves feeding a veterinary diet with special ingredients or made in a specific way so your dog does not react to it. Your vet will recommend which diet to feed.

If a food allergy is well managed, your dog can live a perfectly normal life. Left untreated, food allergies can have a serious effect on your dog’s health and quality of life.

📋 5 Tips for Keeping Your Dog Safe on Holiday!

Many of us will be traveling in the UK this year, and it’s crucial to be prepared to keep our dogs safe while on holiday. Here are 5 essential tips:

Pack a First Aid Kit: Include bandages, dressing pads, gloves, saline, scissors, tweezers, plastic bags, foil blanket, micropore tape, water, tick twister, and spare lead.

Know the Nearest Vets: Make a note of the nearest vets to where you’re staying and keep your dog's medical records handy.

Ensure Safe Travel: Use seat belt harnesses, pet carriers, or dog guards. Follow Rule 57 of the Highway Code for safe car travel.

Keep Your Dog Comfortable: Bring their favorite blanket, toys, and take regular breaks. Ensure they have sufficient water and stay cool or dry as needed.

Be Aware of Car Anxiety: Watch for signs like barking, whining, or vomiting. Never punish these behaviors; instead, gradually accustom your dog to car journeys.

🚗 Remember, comfort and safety are key for a stress-free holiday with your furry friend!
