RIP beautiful friend. The farmer next door had a shoot this morning and a magnificent pheasant fell into my field. He lived for a minute. I ran over and after some choice words, for example effing psychopaths and murderers, I prevented them from collecting him from my property and he will now rest here.

Hunting and shooting needs to end, it is barbaric, cruel and exploits this innocent sentient beings. Poor baby 🕊️

You know when it’s safe to look through the window when everyone is eating Christmas dinner 🦃 Unfortunately millions of turkeys lost their lives this Christmas for people to eat their bodies. Poor turkeys, they didn’t deserve this. Go vegan and save turkeys, they are so clever, funny, curious, friendly and love life.

Peeta has his sanctuary anniversary today here at Greenwood. He has been here one year and came initially on his own. He now has friends of his own species to keep him company as they free roam around the area with their turkey friends. He is such a character and next month he has his new pond being built which he can’t wait for.

Remember to look for down in your products when buying bedding and clothing and invest in alternatives and always ask hotels and rentals to replace down with the fantastic alternatives that are available without cruelty and exploitation

These beautiful 9 week old babies were rescued at two weeks old with one day to spare from a school hatching project.

Please ask your school to stop hatching eggs as they do not represent the cycle of life in any way.

The are hatched eggs and the death two weeks later, maybe tell the children the truth and see if they agree with this.

Luckily these five boys will live their lives together at Greenwood Sanctuary but the vast majority of school hatched chicks will not reach a sanctuary and will be killed as an unwanted waste product of selfish and ignorant humans.

Ban this from all school activities, tell your school, it is not cute it is murder

Please share to anyone you think might be considering buying eggs for their school in the future. They can watch a video and fundraise for sanctuaries instead.

Two years ago today our most wonderful rescued pregnant ewe gave birth to triplets. On the same day Gail Haddon and I went to rescue a lamb, Fluffy from a local farmer and as we were there Edie was born and was passed to us as an unwanted tiny triplet. What a fantastic honour to have shared the last two years with them but especially those first days keeping them alive so they could grow into who they are today 🐑❤️

The beautiful, loving and kind Henry. He has escaped the torture and the ultimate ending of being on someone’s plate and is now living his best life. Pigs are intelligent and emotional, you can decide to stop eating them from this point and be on the right side of history
