We was quoted about £350+ for the wood that we needed.
We was kindly given this wood from the family a few doors down from us. Thank you 🙏
It was in a skip heading for the dump.

Dear Neighbors,

We've recently become aware of the petition circulating between a select few regarding the occasional burning of wood on our land. Firstly, we want to extend our apologies if the smoke from these fires has caused any inconvenience to our neighbors. We understand that smoke can be bothersome, and we're always striving to minimize any disruptions.

A genuine neighbour made me aware of the smoke issue 3 weeks ago and we haven’t burned anything since then. We have since made changes so that no wood that is damp or wet is to be incinerated as this is the main cause for smoke.

That said, we feel compelled to shed some light on the situation. The wood we burn is not just any wood—it's waste material that has no use and can cause other wood to spoil if left. All this would otherwise end up in the hands of big companies, who have no qualms about burning it on a much larger scale. By processing this wood on our land, we're actually saving large amounts from being needlessly incinerated elsewhere.
The salvaged wood, firewood, BIOchar, wood chip and mulch is then provided to the community or donated to similar projects & charities.

Our project has a important goal. To create interactive community led workshops showing the importance of feeding our soils which growers will tell you is a cause for concern. Among other subjects.

Furthermore, we'd like to point out that we only deal with a select few local companies who are not only supporters but also users of our park. These companies understand the importance of sustainability and community involvement, which is why they choose to collaborate with us.

The way I see it. You can let the big companies create energy with it for you to then pay silly prices for or you keep it it the community adding goodness to soil and a safe place for dogs to be dogs.

In conclusion, thank you for all the fantastic support we have received so far from our ever growing community. And to the neighbours petitioning, we appreciate your concerns and take them seriously. Rest assured, we'll continue to explore alternative methods to manage the waste material in a manner that's considerate to our neighbors and beneficial to the environment. If you would like a discussion or have any further ideas, I am regularly at the land and happy to be approached.
