Gus The Disabled Pug

Gus The Disabled Pug Gus's life story- a disabled pug who doesn't let anything get in his way. He has Hemivertebrae Disease of the spine. So we got him a wheelchair.

Gus was diagnosed with having hemivertebrae disease when he was 5 months old. we took him to numerous vets who all advised us for surgery. After explaining to them that it was out of the question as it was very expensive and it would only be a 50/50 chance he would come round after the anaesthetic and walk again. We didn't want to take this risk with him as he was so young and tiny so we went agai

nst the vets' advice and to this they all said he would only live a couple of months with this condition or we should put him to sleep now before it got worse in him. He wasn't suffering and still could toilet fine as well as eat. Having this chair has helped him so much, he's had a second chance at life. He can run, play and keep up with the other dogs. He will be turning 1 on 14th march 2016- a massive milestone as they said he would never ever see this birthday! it just shows that even if he is disabled he has a happy life and has owners who love him and would do anything for him. He captures the hearts of anyone he meets.
