Attention all cat owners🐈🐈‍⬛🐾💙:

The government has announced that by June 10th 2024, all pet cats in England must be microchipped and contact details must be stored and kept up to date on a microchip database.
Kittens must be microchipped by the time they reach 20 weeks of age.

Owners found not to have microchipped their cats will have 21 days to have one implanted, or may face a fine of up to £500.

This is being enforced to help unite lost and stray cats.

A consultation with one of our nurses can be made to have your feline friend microchipped. If your cat is being neutered in the next 3 months, then microchipping can also be done at the same time.

Please contact the practice on 01253 357380 to make this appointment or to speak to a member of the team if you have any questions.

***HAS BEEN REUNITED WITH HIS OWNER😊***

We have had a young, male, entire cream and tan cross breed brought into us by a member of the public. Unfortunately he isn’t chipped and isn’t wearing a collar and therefore we cannot contact a potential owner. He was found on Norbreck Road near the dance studio. He was seen with another type of small crossbreed dog however it ran away once they were approached.
If you think this is your dog or know of the owner, then please contact the practice on 01253 357380. Proof of ownership will be required.🐾🐶

Just a quick message to say how very moved I was by my wonderful staff and even ex-staff who came to wish me a happy 50th Birthday today.

I fought against it but eventually gave in - not much choice really, with balloons and banners all over the practice and pictures of me from baby - recent all over the TV. You know I love you all, you are a big part of my family.

Also a thank you to the clients who have sent cards and gifts- I'd like to find out who blabbed - they are in for it!!!

🎆🎇Bonfire night is fast approaching 🎇🎆

If you have a pet that is nervous of fireworks you may find it helpful to know we have a number of different options to help keep them calm on the night. Products such as Nutracalm and Pet Remedy can be a great way to alleviate some of the stress 🐕🐈

Please call the practice to discuss the different options we have on 01253 357380

✨️ Some other helpful tips for bonfire night include ✨️

🎆Keep windows and doors shut and pets inside.

🎆Closing curtains and keeping lights on can help dull any flashes of light

🎆Prepare a ‘safe space’ for your pet for them to hide in, such as a crate covered with a blanket or your pet’s favourite hiding spot.

🎆Use calming sprays or/or diffusers

🎆Avoid leaving them on their own on the night

🎆Turn the TV and/or radio on with some classical music

This little lady is available for rehoming🐰🏠
We have named her tiramisu but of course that can be changed.
She would need to go to an experienced rabbit owner, preferably a home with no children unless children are older and are not going to be so ‘handsy’ with her. She was extremely friendly and inquisitive when she arrived but unfortunately due to lack of space and stimulation she has become quite sassy, hopefully when at her new home with more space, she will get back to her affectionate self. We are unsure whether she would like to be housed with another rabbit but like most, they should have a companion and she also loves her food🥕🥦
If you think you can offer her a suitable home then please contact the practice on 01253 357380🐾

We are URGENTLY trying to find the owner of this lovely, elderly male neutered cat that was found near the mini roundabout on Devonshire road. The cats condition is deteriorating so we need to get in contact with the owner ASAP, unfortunately he isn’t microchipped.
Please contact the practice on 01253 357380 if you think this is your cat or know of the person who owns him.

We would advise keeping your dogs out of the sea for the foreseeable future at Bispham, Norbreck and Cleveleys due to reports of a sewage leak brought on by the storms this week.

My name is Ellie and I am an RVN at Andrew's. In October I had my little boy. Unfortunately he needed emergency life-support and was blue-lighted to Alder Hey. They undoubtedly saved his life and they are the reason that today he is thriving. My mum and stepdad are running a marathon in San Francisco to raise money for Alder Hey's Children's Charity, so if you have even a spare few pounds to donate we'd be very grateful. Lets help them continue to save the lives of children like my Boden. Thank you 🩵

I have sad news, a entire male black and white young domestic short hair cat was struck by a car at the corner of Devonshire Road and Claremont Road. He was not microchipped and had no collar. There is a chance he is a ferrel cat but was in good condition so someone may be missing him.
Unfortunately he died very soon after the impact, at least his suffering was momentary. A very kind lady brought him to us. If you are missing him please contact us.
As an aside the government have finally passed the cat microchipping law. From the 10th June 2024 it will be law to have all owned cats microchipped.
Let's hope the day gets better from here on. Thank you for reading this.

For our registered clients we are beginning to use the my buddy app, the aim is to make lines of communication easier and more up to date. Currently you can send us messages and request food or medicines, you will then be able to track what is happening with that request and be notified when you can collect it. You / we can also set up reminders for vaccinations and appointments and it works through what are called "push notifications " on your smart phones.
We hope this will be something helpful to both you and us to streamline our services.
Many thanks
Andrew

For all those of you who have chickens, pigeons etc from the 7th November you will be required by law to keep your birds housed. This is to try and limit the continuing spread of bird flu. Please see the DEFRA website for further information.
Keep safe and Happy Halloween
