🐾 Another Two Incredible Scentwork Workshops! 🐾

We had an amazing time in Arbroath running two more Scentwork workshops for Dream Dogs - dog training! 🎉 9 hardworking teams put in the effort, refining their skills and building confidence in their searches.

Fantastic teamwork, dedication, and problem-solving from both dogs and handlers—can’t wait for the next one! 👏🐶

We don’t have everyone’s picture as we had the amazing Hannah Paterson Photography taking photos in the morning 📸 we can’t wait to see how they turned out!

Had an amazing training session with this gorgeous Springer, Mauya, focusing on refining her indication work—such a crucial skill for the important operational role in SAR (Search & Rescue) she and her handler are preparing for! 🐶🔎

With just a few small tweaks, this team is well on their way; lovely to work with such a dedicated team! 👏🐾

🐶 Another Adorable Puppy Class Begins! 🎉

Our second block of Puppy Classes kicked off tonight, and we’ve got another group of adorable little learners ready to start their training journey! 🐾✨

From building confidence to mastering the basics, these pups (and their owners!) are in for an exciting few weeks of learning and fun. Can’t wait to watch them grow! 💛

🐶✨ Puppy Cuteness Overload! ✨🐶

Our first puppy class has been taken over by some seriously adorable new recruits! 😍 🐾 From tiny paws to big personalities, these little learners are already making amazing progress.

They’re working on:
✅ How to settle
✅ Focus around distractions
✅ Recall & Loose Lead
✅ Foundations for a lifetime of good behavior

🚨 Weekday Workshop Success! 🚨

Our first daytime, midweek workshop was such a hit that we had to run two sessions!

🐶✨ 9 incredible teams put in the work, focusing on:

✅ Working with the dog in front of them and adapting how they search
✅ Building duration in their indications
✅ Using efficient search patterns
✅ Handling distractions and knowing when to challenge and when to focus on confidence!

Amazing effort from everyone—can’t wait for the next one! 👏🐾

Training Around a Bitch in Season – Breaking the Myth!

Why do we often consider a bitch in season too much of a distraction in training? 🤔

Here, we put it to the test with two males (one entire) and one female working over an area where a bitch in heat had been—complete with 🩸 spots on the floor.

The result? The moment their search cue was given, they locked into their work and ignored the distraction completely. 💪🐶

A great reminder that with the right training, focus always wins! 🔥

They both have passed their Foundation ORTs and can’t wait to start competing in The National Nosework Association Trials!

Shoutout to Team Bentley and Team Bailey for their amazing work tonight in their lost dog tracking training! 🐾✨

We tackled the challenges of urban environments, where traffic, people, road crossings, and shifting scent put their skills to the test.

Both teams handled it like absolute pros! 💪

We could not be prouder of Hannah & Zoom 🥇

My amazing little baby boy 🤩 We’ve been training scentwork with Shannon at K9 Track & Train since last year and competing in scentwork trials under The National Nosework Association for a few months and at his most recent trial organised and judged by Melanie at Little Rascals School for Dogs he only went and won it 🤩 He also staged up out of Foundation in to Pre-Entry 🩵 There are 3 timed elements in each trial, an interior search, an exterior search and a selection test, he smashed every single one, finding the odour within the time limit.
They are blind tests, neither the dog nor handler know where the scent is and the searches can take place in any location, barns, stables, garages, outhouses etc, it’s an incredible thing to witness, your dog searching with just his nose and locating a single drop of specific scent in a big world!
So very, very proud of my little pudding 🩵

From little to large, novice to advanced, these teams worked HARD! 🐾

Our novice teams focused on indications, search patterns, building independence, and working with the dog in front of them. Meanwhile, the advanced teams tackled blank areas, search stamina, close proximity hides, and exterior searches in a windy conditions.

Very proud of all 8 teams for their hard work and progress! 💪🌟
