✨Want to get a solid recall in some of the most distracting places going?!✨
🤫 Start in a quiet place and practise practise practise until it's solid
🐕 Use a long line to keep the success rate 100% during the training process
🎉 Reward them well for coming back! Make sure you know what their absolute favourite reward is, and resevre that for your recall
📣 Pick a recall word and stick to it! Consistency is key - they need to know what you're asking them

🎃 Spooky Season is here! So make sure you've got your pups all prepped so they're ready for Halloween... 👻
🚪Teach them to be nice & calm when people come to the door. Practice getting them to settle, and then stay settled when the doorbell rings.
---->Want them to come and say 'hi' to the trick or treaters? No problem! Teach some calm doorway manners so they don't bolt out as soon as you start opening the door
🛏 It might all get a bit much for them as the evening carries on, so make sure they have a nice safe space they can go to where they'll be left in peace
🍭 Halloween treats are not safe for dogs! Make sure to teach your dog a solid 'leave' so if sweets end up on the floor, your dog stays safe!
TIP: keep the sweet bowl out of their reach anyway as an initial safety precaution!

If you’ve got a nervous dog, you’ll know that walks aren’t always as enjoyable as you would like them be. Here are 3 things you can do to help your nervous dog have a better time out & about

🌳 Walk in the same safe spaces. Variety may be the spice of life, but for a nervous dog it can cause an increase in their anxiety. Keeping walks consistent means there are no nasty surprises and they can start to relax a bit. You can build new environments in gradually, but make sure it’s at your dogs pace
😎 Sit & Chill! Give them time to take in their surroundings and process it all. You don’t have to walk at 100mph all walk, every walk
🍪 Use rewards for behaviours you would like them to do to help build their confidence. You looked at another dog, that sometimes measures you nervous, and ignored them to go and sniff that tree? Amazing! Reward that!
