Fridays adventures in the forest!

Your dog will be welcomed into our home, gardens, dedicated dog lounges & forest enclosure!

Our forest enclosure is at our home, we have securely fenced between two to three acres at our house: using the best dog rated 6ft fencing & double entry gates! Giving your dogs the benefit of exploring and outdoor play in our secure, enclosed, private enclosure - with enough space for everyone to have the best time!

There’s so many benefits from allowing your dog to get outdoors, for outdoor enrichment!
Allowing your dog to explore, run, roll, learn, reduce stress, rejuvenate and get that all important exercise to name a few of the many benefits of letting your dog get outside in a natural environment!

As well as our forest enclosure, your dogs can explore our gardens, home, dog lounges & take part in a range of enrichment activities such as lick mats, snuffle mats, puzzles as well as time to decompress, which is so important!

We are dog lovers, treating your dog like one of our own & a member of the family - because dogs are family!

We provide a healthy, secure & balanced day for all our doggies dependent on their individual needs!

Introducing Harley to The Borders Canine Club family!
On starting Harley was unsure & quite nervous!
However after lots of confidence building, taking things at her pace, with lots of love, fusses & encouragement, Harley has grown in confidence & settled into The Borders Canine Club family!
We have loved seeing her develop, become settled & confident!
She now happily plays, joins in with games, scent work & has the best time socialising! We have loved watching Harley progress & transform into a fun loving, confident girly!
We love welcoming Harley & can’t wait for lots more fun in the future with her! 🥹🐾

Snuffle mats! Another activity we regularly do here at The Borders Canine Club! They have so many benefits as well as being great fun for your doggies! Here’s a few on the benefits: 🐶Helps with feeding, slowing down the fast eaters & encouraging the fussy ones as well! 🐩Mental stimulation, getting your dog motivated, engaging their brain & using their nose / smelling skills! 🐕Perhaps due to injury or the weather your dog can’t get the normal exercise, these are another form of exercise & stimulation for them! 🐾A welcome distraction & way to keep your dog entertained, which could help with stress as well as separation anxiety! Here’s just a few reasons why you should introduce snuggle mats to your dogs! And what’s even better we have a range of different snuggle mats available to buy for our members at The Borders Canine Club!

Making lick mats for the dogs! One of the activities we regularly do for doggies boarding and within our daycare! This time we used: •Blueberries 🫐 Full of antioxidants, vitamins C + K, good for your dogs immune system 🫐 •Plain Greek Yoghurt • High in calcium + protein, probiotic & can help your dogs digestive system • •Local Honey 🍯 Local honey = local pollen, which can help with allergies, skin issues + can help reduce inflammation 🍯 •Peanut Butter 🥜 Dog friendly, must not contain xylitol (toxic to dogs) Full of vitamins B + E & protein 🥜 •Banana 🍌 Low in calories, high in potassium, magnesium, biotin, vitamin B6 + C 🍌 Always in moderation** Benefits of lick mats: Great for dental health, can help with anxiety by causing a distraction, giving a focus, helping with boredom. Helping with your dogs energy as well!

Bella loved playing bubbles! Bubbles are a great way to interact & bond with your dog! It’s also a great energy burning exercise, it also engages your dogs brain and body, encouraging them to work on their eye-paw coordination! If you’d like to have a go at home, make sure you are using a dog safe bubble solution, as a lot of the commercial ones are toxic to dogs and can make them poorly. Instead why not treat them to a dog specific bubbles, you can get them in several flavours that your dog will enjoy.. Bella enjoyed her bacon favourite bubbles, we also have ‘peanut butter’ flavour bubbles for your dogs to enjoy! 🫧 🥓

Puzzles for dogs? We encourage all our dogs to try out new puzzles & games! Here’s Ronnie having a try with a puzzle feeder. Puzzle feeders are so beneficial to use for your doggies, providing dogs with mental stimulation, reduces boredom & for those that eat quickly, it’s helps to slow down mealtimes! Enriching your dogs life! We also have snuffle mats, lick mats, flip boards, kongs to name a few which we use every day with your doggies! It’s not always about the playtime, it’s about love & cuddles! 🥰🐾

Did you know sniffing is great for your dog? 🐾 Just 20 minutes of sniffing is the equivalent to an hour’s walk in terms of enrichment for your dog! It’s also great for their well-being too & enriching as well as stimulating their minds! Dogs experience much of the world around their sense of smell, so let them sniff away! They will enjoy it & it’s great for them at the same time! One simple game to play: through a small amount of kibble out onto the grass and encourage them to find it! This can also be played indoors on hot days, hiding some treats around the house and encouraging them to find it! Always use the same key word when playing a game, so they learn the association of the word to the action/game you want them to play!
