This past couple of months I don't know how I'd have managed without your help in covering cat sits on behalf of Carol at Home Comforts Cat Sitting. You are all truly wonderful and very much appreciated 💝😻🐾🐾. I'm not available for the next two and half weeks but will be able to take messages etc. Sooo ready for this break now. 🐾🐾

This is Babs the Bengal 🐯 Sadly, Babs has spent her life in a rabbit hutch in an endless cycle of pregnancy and rearing kittens.

At 7 years of age, the last thing she needed was more kittens! Thankfully, the breeder signed Babs and her kittens over to a National RSPCA officer following a complaint. Apparently, Babs has had over 25 kittens in her life 😵‍

Once Babs has finished nursing her kittens (who are not Bengals!) she will be neutered before going up for adoption so she can become a care-free kitty for the rest of her life 💙

Did you know....? 🤔 Pedigree cats are now as popular as regular 'moggies' with 42% of cats being pedigrees (5 years ago this was around 17%). Sadly this has fuelled an industry of bad breeders where the welfare of mum and kittens isn't the primary focus. As a result we are seeing more pedigree cats coming into rescue.

A paper collar is a simple way to find the owners of a cat. If you have a cat visiting you and the cat is healthy/ in a safe place, we advise you to collar the cat. This will enable you to find the owners or to see if the cat goes anywhere else . They may have information on the cat . You can use a fast-release collar and write your number on it we just cellotape it on like the picture below. Alternatively, you can make a collar out of paper, write your phone number on it, and then attach it to the cat with a little bit of cellotape tape. Don't tape it fully as it needs to be able to rip off if the cat gets caught.

For adoption 🐱 MAYNARD 🐱 FAMILY FRIENDLY 👪 Maynard is the cuddliest 3 year old teddy bear in cat form that we have encountered for a while. He came into RSPCA care with a terrible untreated collar wound injury which must have been incredibly painful. He had to endure skin grafts and several operations to repair the damage that had been left for 5 months. Despite all this he has remained the mildest natured soul you could wish to meet and everybody has fallen in love with him.

His favourite pastimes are eating, giving and receiving head bumps and masquerading as a giant cuddly toy. Maynard is definitely the cat for someone who is happy to have a chunky shadow follow them around and nap on their lap whenever they sit down! Maynard is a consummate gentleman but he doesn't have much regard for personal space!

Maynard will make a great first time family cat as he is so gentle, loving and easy to please. The fur has mostly regrown from where he had his skin graft but he may require a bit of sunscreen on the tiny bits of bare skin on his back on a sunny day as he will want to play outside once settled. Maynard is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He has his meals in puzzle feeders to slow him down and he could do with losing a little bit of weight. He enjoys play so it should be fairly easy to persuade him to chase squirrels outside and burn off a few calories at the same time.

After another hectic week of cat sitting and starting to feel a little jaded it was lovely to receive this beautiful gift from two of Carol at Home Comforts Cat Sitting kitties, Salem and Jet 🖤🖤. It helped reboost the love for my job and the feeling of being very appreciated. Thank you Jeff and Julie Moran for your kindness, it truly does means a lot. 🐾🐾

For adoption 💙 BLUE 💙 Blue is a 11 month old girl who came into our care from a multiple cat household. As a result she's missed out on socialisation with people and needs help learning to adapt to us humans! She's developed lots of confidence in her foster home and now we need an adopter to continue their good work!

🐱 She needs a quiet, adult only home with experienced cat folks.
🐱 She might be able to live with another cat of a similar age.
🐱 She has a heart of gold and just needs patience, time and space to blossom!

It is with great sadness I've learnt of the passing of one of Carol at Home Comforts Cat Sitting cats today. The lovely gentlecat 🧡 Simba 🥺😢. I've a lot of fond memories of caring for Simba, he will be very much missed. Sending sincere condolences to his family at this sad time. 🌈🐾🐾

Bert is on sick leave from all his duties for a week or so due to being a little poorly. The vet thinks he's sustained a cat bite leading to him having a higher than normal temperature and being generally unwell 🥹. He's had an antibiotic injection and following up with pain relief medication. All being well Bert will be feeling better soon and be back on his duties 🖤🐈‍⬛🐾🐾
