After a very busy summer for residential training and 121 sessions, followed by a much needed 3 week break I am now booking in for this winter.
September is fully booked
October available
November available
December available
Christmas holidays through to January is available at the moment, usually has been booked by end of October, no extra cost for the holiday weeks.
I always speak on the phone to people before I accept booking, so we know if we are a good fit.
£300 non returnable booking fee - deducted from balance of money. Must be paid by the start date of dog being collected by me.

In London today to visit these 2 lovely dogs.
The silver one Moosh, is very nervous and reactive to people and dogs. Our walk started with him refusing to move and shying away to him trotting happily home. We met quite a few other dogs and went through my process which often does not include food, nor avoiding other dogs, getting him to be able to look at other dogs without reacting. Owners were thrilled. As usual too engrossed to film any of it! I would rather have a successful session than worry about us being camera ready. Another visit in 2 weeks time.

I went to see these two yesterday. They are half sisters and one has started attacking the other at random times. One is going to vet today for meds for an infection and asking for blood tests to see if an underlying cause for the other one to suddenly a week ago start attacking her.
We are starting training this week too on the basics including proper socialising.
They have great owners who are committed to help their adored dogs return to the happy friendly dogs they were 10 days ago.

My dog George was in training for 2 weeks with Karen! He was very well looked after and they worked every day and I received videos and updates! George has come back home after being collected and delivered by Karen with a really good understanding of what’s expected of him and how he reacts and responds to commands! He is very responsive and has grasped the training well Karen is excellent and I rate her very highly 5 ☀️ and very very knowledgeable!

I came to Karen with a dog reactive Shepherd cross. Within minuites Karen had her behaving and ignoring other dogs, to the point I think Karen may have thought I made it all up. I now feel much more confident I am on the right path to progression and have added the correct basics to better manage when she does react to other dogs. After a long period of limited progress Karen has put us in the right direction, and I feel I have the tools to continue to develop between now and our next session.

Mouse is a young GSD x breed who has some fear reactivity (have not yet actually seen more than a grumble yet) and we met again for a second session last night, I took little Eddie with me as my stooge dog last night as Mouse didn't like small dogs, yet again, she was not very bothered and wanted to say hello to him as well as a couple of spaniels we met while out. Seeing her with her brother next visit as the spur each other on to misbehave. A sweet girl.

Friday evening saw a second vist to a sweet Malinois aged 2yrs as owners felt they needed help with her reactivity to other dogs. We firstly worked on her general behaviour which was good anyway but needed clearer communication to her so she understood instead of giving an assortment of behaviours or went silly with them, this is quite common if they are getting mixed cues of what is expected. We sorted which tools to use to help her lead pulling and how to walk sensibly beside them or at least on a loose lead.

We then went on a walk where they all met one of my stooge dogs, Harley the Skye terrier, and saw how far away the behaviour occurred, what behaviours were shown and how to pass other dogs calmly, then one of this 15 mins bit of the session resulted in Sam (the mail) standing calmly near Harley and then allowed to sniff Haley from behind thus avoiding eye contact which often is what sets of many unsure dogs. I felt that instead of fear reaction, young Sam had lead frustration when around other dogs as she did not often meet them and became unsure on what to do and was nervous in case they nipped her.
As with most cases, more exposure to other dogs from a distance and some controlled greetings with other dogs will help but I lead, to meet in the dogs preferred way with butt sniffing and not nose to nose which causes tension and gives opportunities to make poor decisions and lead to possible snapping at each other, leads stop the ability for the dogs to calmly walk away from each other or offer play.

This I would have to agree with so much !!

I, before I decided to become a dog trainer, was excusing behaviours, overlooking things and perhaps not feeling like my dog’s behaviour had anything to do with me.

However, in order to create better versions of my dogs, I really needed to look at what I was allowing and accepting; how I lived and interacted with them and being really honest with myself that I couldn’t put all the blame on them. It was unfair to do this and as uncomfortable as it might have been to honesty look at these areas and go about resetting things, it was all worth it when I started seeing much nicer and better versions of my dogs.

The dog is one part of issue but we most certainly cannot discount us, the human, being a relevant part too. We need to hold ourselves just as accountable as we seem to do our dogs.
