Just another update guys…

Ross collapsed at work today and was rushed to hospital. After scans etc, it showed he had a large kidney stone.

He’s gone down hill and it now appears to be stuck so we’re at the hospital awaiting some help.

I think at the very least, I’ll need to cancel tomorrow and possibly Thursday (as he was also my help).

I’ll try to message everyone individually.

Sorry folks, luck is not in my favour.

Just an update guys!

I am incredibly broken and in a lot of pain following a big operation on Thursday.

I’ve most days covered with help, but I’m currently struggling with Tuesday.

I’m unable to make last minute changes/swaps at the moment and I may have to cancel the off day as I’m unable to drive my van as it’s manual.

I’m trying my very best to rectify and to not cause too much upset but it cannot be helped and I can assure you not only am I suffering terrible pain wise, I’m finding being rather incapable the most upsetting thing.

Sorry for potentially letting anyone down.

🔥 HEAT STROKE 🔥

Did you know it can only take 15 minutes for dogs to become fatally Ill from heat stroke?

A normal dogs body temperature is roughly 38.5°C, it only takes a 2 °C increase in body temperature for heat stroke to set in.

Some dogs are more at risk of getting heat stroke, such as:

☀️ Short nosed dogs (Pugs, Frenchies, Bulldogs)
☀️ Elderly and young dogs
☀️ long haired breeds
☀️ Overweight dogs

However during the hotter temperatures (28 degrees and higher) heat stroke is a risk to all types of dogs

What are the signs of heat stroke?

🚫 Heavy panting, difficulty breathing, excessive thirst
🚫 Bright red tongue and gums, which can sometimes appear Grey in serious cases as this is when shock sets in
🚫 Excessive drooling, vomiting and/or diarrhoea
🚫 Lethargy, unsteadiness or staggering
🚫 Collapse or seizures

How can we prevent our beloved pets from getting heat stroke?

✅ Provide lots of shade and cool areas

✅ Plenty of access to fresh water, multiple bowls in various areas are beneficial.

✅ Walk your dogs before 7am or after 9pm. If you can’t avoid the heat, it is better for the dog to miss a walk that day.

✅ Avoid pavements where possible, If you can’t hold your hand on the pavement for longer than 3 seconds then it is too hot for your pets paws🐾

✅ Not leaving dogs in the car

✅ Special cool mats made for pooches

Most of the above will also apply to cats too, they are usually very good at keeping themselves cool but it is always beneficial to help them where we can. 🐱

If you think your pet has heatstroke, please call your vet immediately.

It’s really important that we keep our pets safe during this time, and also helps the vets from having emergencies that could be prevented 🐾 ❤️

Hot weather warning ⚠️ ⛔️ ☀️

Unfortunately the weather is taking a very warm turn, which means many walks will need to be either cancelled or changed to home garden visits/toilet breaks.

Please use the below photo as a guide.

Remember, a dog never died from missing a walk but the risk of dying, especially in Fridays heat is extremely high.

Keep your dogs inside and cool.

I’d recommend cooling mats, shallow paddling pools (under supervision), a wet cotton cloth over a fan, damp towels on tiled floors, frozen Kongs to name just a few.

Hi everyone,

After a bit of a long, poorly weekend of super high temps and chest pain, I ended up in hospital and I have pneumonia.

Mainly due to never taking a break.

I’m still not taking any time off don’t worry, but it has slowed me up quite a bit as it’s painful and I’ll be unable to add in any extra walks or change any around, so please be mindful of this.

I also have my sons surgery on Friday, so just a reminder that I shall not be working on the 11th.

I hope everyone’s had a lovely weekend. 🐾

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Thank you so much for all of the cards, gifts and messages I received this year. I’m incredibly grateful.

It’s been an incredibly busy year with me only having 5 total days off of work, including weekends, so I’m going to enjoy these few days off.
