Fresh off the hives
Summer honeycomb . A beautiful light sweet honey . The wax is edible, it contains propolis which provides health benefits.
This is lovely on warm toast! Just mash a sliver onto the toast, the honey will run out and the wax will partially melt!
Another delicious way to eat the comb is to top vanilla ice cream with a sliver of the comb.

All sorts of bees visiting the Thyme flowers. Difficult to capture as they move so quickly!
Honey bees, bumbles and teeny tiny bees. Just love the buzzing sound 🐝

Pollen count is on the increase with the warmer weather.
At this time of year it’s most likely tree pollens moving towards grass pollens which can affect hay fever sufferers.
Pollen honey now in stock.
Our regular customers use this every year to help their symptoms.
We can’t make any medical claims. However we receive positive feedback year on year.

The bees are out for a cleansing flight in todays sunshine. Basically it’s a toilet flight!
They must get back in the hive before the sun goes in and temperature drops

Beautiful sky from the farm looking towards Queensbury and Top Withens.
Just a glimpse of a crescent moon through the sunset. Tomorrow might be a nice day based on the old saying!

Our summer honey is a darker crop this year. The bees have obviously been foraging on different flowers.
Speaking to other beekeepers, they’ve experienced similar dark crops of honey.
Slightly different taste…still lovely!

This week I'm riding the Jo Cox Way, it's a charity ride from Cleckheaton to London over five days the longest cycle ride I have ever done. This is a fantastic charity in memory of Jo supporting the diverse causes that she stood up for.

So hot today whilst beekeeping!
25 degrees, suited up and lifting full supers of honey up to 20kg whilst hundreds of bees are buzzing around is the reality behind that delicious jar of honey! Bees and beekeepers working together.
