With sad and heavy hearts we had to say goodbye today our beautiful Kia ..we rescued you and had you in our lives for 8 lovely years ..you lovely gentle soul ..crossing that bridge to be with our Milo xx💔 we love you xx

As a business I donate monthly to this charity wearehappy doggo in Thailand for the incredible work this man and his team do for street dogs and the sterilisation programme ..

I'd like to share how things happen quickly with dogs and the heat 🌞 ☀️
Yesterday my dogs inadvertently got left in the garden for longer than intended.. whist I was working .long story short when my older dog Kia (14 1/2) was let in she was making a rasping noise like choking (she had put herself in the shade at side of the house) she drank a large amount of water and collapsed..deficating through panic.
I rushed her to the vets carrying her in and out of the car as she couldn't walk ..it turned out she had heatstroke ..the vet said older dogs can't regulate their temperature very well and she's also chocolate brown in colour which doesn't help ..and that they don't even need to be exerting themselves to go downhill ..her temp was 40 degrees ..she recovered quickly and didn't need a drip just water over her and a cool mat ..she came out bright as a button like 'what's all the fuss about mum?" Pleased to see me. It's a sharp warning to me to be extra careful as our weather creeps up on us ..summer has arrived ...I know I'm careful like a lot of lovely dog owners and avoid walking my dogs until later in the day/evening and if they don't go ..well it doesn't matter ..its too hot for them especially for very young and older dogs..but I still see people doing it!!....my lesson was that you don't even have to be walking them for something to happen..
It's all OK now thankfully.. and she soon went back to her spot barking at the door !! What a Friday and it wasn't even the 13th!!! Xx
Ps a big thank you to my understanding customers ..the one on the table who got finished later and the two who had to rearrange xx
Also I'd like to add that this happened between 8.30 and 9.30 in the morning ..not even in the mid day sun x
