Walk of the week!
This week it’s Bocking Blackwater! We love walking here with our more sociable dogs who enjoy playing with others. Every time we visit we always have a lovely chat with other dog walkers and meet lots of gorgeous dogs!

Pros
• Lots of friendly dogs and people
• There are different routes you can take
• You can access from multiple roads

Cons
• Not suitable for more nervous dogs as it does tend to be busy depending what time you go
• Can be a little flooded occasionally (Although that’s part of the fun!)

Bailey is such a cuddler, he rested his head on my shoulder whilst I was drying his feet after he had an adventure in a big muddy puddle 🥹❤

Meet Bailey! Bailey is a 2 year old golden retriever who started walks with us this month! He is so affectionate and gorgeous, we think we'll be having lots of fun with this boy! 🥰❤

Its walk your dog month! 🥳 In spirit of that we’re going to be posting our favourite walk of the week! We are starting this late so we are going to carry this into February!

To get this started, this week it’s Bovingdon Road! It’s probably our go to walk most of the time. So, what are the pros and cons?
Pros:
• Lots of paths that link up so you can do short or long walks
• Ponds for swimming!
• Lots of space so if you have a nervous dog you can get more distance between you and others
• Small amount of parking
• Concrete path to walk down so not too much mud
• Lots of wildlife (Add this to cons if you have a sighthound with a prey drive! 🤣)
Cons
• No poo bin so have to take it home with you

How to get there?

Pop Bovingdon Road in your sat nav, if you are heading from Braintree, you will see on your right hand side a similar view to the google maps screenshot.

On the map it is marked with the little blue car and all the red dotted lines are paths you can explore, enjoy! 😁

Bella and Luna had walks over the weekend and it was rather frosty! They are such sweet girls and walked beautifully! What a pleasure 🥰❄️

Kat was lucky enough to have a calm break over new years on the border of Wales🌳

It was such a perfect holiday, with incredible views, lots of walking and Luna and Reggie were on best behaviour (mostly) 🤣

With Christmas next week (Where did that come from? 😱) Remember to keep these items out of reach to avoid a sickly pet during the festive period:

-Cooked chicken bones or cooked bones in general
-Chocolate
-Alcohol
-Xylitol – this is usually in sweets
-Onion
-Rawhide – this is sometimes sold in pet shops even though it can cause blockages, it is usually bright in colour during Christmas but can also be brown. Check the ingredient list before buying
-Poinsettias (Christmas flowers)
-Holly
-Mince pies
-Christmas pudding
-Macadamia nuts

Also a tip for anyone who has dogs that chew, unplug the Christmas tree lights when your dog is left unattended, just so they wont get a nasty shock if they happen to chew through the cables thinking it’s a fun new game you bought them for Christmas.

Newbie Florence ✨

We had the absolute pleasure of walking and popping in on Madame Florence recently, she’s a very nervous girl so we took it slow, she showed us her cheeky side with zoomies in the garden and prancing on her walkies. We loved spending time with this mature lady! 😁❤

We had a fabulous time at the Danaher Fun Dog walk surrounded by lots of gorgeous doggies! We got to walk little energetic Ernie who was super excited to get going and the wonderful Walter who decided he wanted a swim, nearly taking Kat with him 🤣 We hope they all sleep well tonight and Danaher raised lots of money!
