Fun Fact of the week😁🐕🐕😁

The Border Terrier goes as far back as the early 18th century in the borderlands that separate England and Scotland. The purpose of these amazing dogs were to chase foxes and kill rodents however sometime their were use to kill otters and even badgers. One of the most famous Border Terrier's has to be Owney the U.S mail dog. This dog would sleep on the mail bags and travel all of the country with the mail.

Fun Fact of the Week (Mothers Day edition) 😁🦧🦧😁

The bond between an Orangutan mother and her young is one of the strongest in nature. A baby Orangutan will stay with their mothers for 6 - 10 years, which also makes them the world's longest animal to stay with their mother. In this time they learn how to find food and what is safe to eat. A mother Orangutan will carry their babies for 7 - 8 months.

A group of penguins that are in the water is called a raft but on land they're called a waddle. The oldest fossil found of a Penguin goes as far back as 62 million years ago. Adelie and Gentoo Penguins use smooth rocks in courtship to give as a gift to females. The rocks are use for their nest for mating season. They are 18 species of Penguins. They are Emperor, King, Royal, Adelie, Macaroni, Gentoo, Galapagos, Magellanic, Humboldt, African, Snares, Fiordland, Little Blue, Yellow Eye, Erect Crested, Northern Rockhopper, Southern Rockhopper, and Chinstrap.

German Shepherds are one of the worlds smartest dog breeds. The Scientific name for German Shepherds is Canis lupus familiaris. German Shepherd's became very famous during World War I. Their roles in the trenches were carrying messages escorting wounded soldiers or blind soldiers off the battlefield, carrying ammunition, being sentries and more. A very special dog!

Komodo Dragon's are my favourite Lizards. These truly amazing reptiles are the world's biggest Lizards. Their way of killing their prey is to use Venom which is in their lower jaw. This venom will stop their prey's blood from clotting so it will cause them extreme blood loss but they will not kill it straightway. They will wait until their prey is so weak it can't run away or defend itself. Then they will go in for the kill. The scientific name for a Komodo Dragon is Varanus komodoensis. The size of a Komodo Dragon is around 10 feet or around 3 meters long they weigh appiox 75kg.

This Dog is called a Chow chow, it is a Chinese breed of dog. This beautiful dog breed is though to be one of the oldest dog breeds. This breed goes far back, at least 2,000 years ago. The average lifespan for a Chow chow is 10 years -15 years. old A average size for a Chow chow is around 52cm. Unfortunately due to their fluffy coat Chow Chow's can get a variety of eye problems.

The Giant African millipede is an amazing millipede, in fact the word millipede means 1,000 feet but the Giant African millipede does not have 1,000 feet. This is the world's biggest millipede out of around 10,000 different species. They are also nocturnal which means there are more active at night. Millipedes, unlike most animals don't breath thought their nose and mouth, they breath thought tiny holes on their bodies called spiracles. The Giant African millipede scientific name is Archispirostreptus gigas.

Hip dysplasia is a skeletal condition, it can be caused by not eating the right nutrition, quick wight gain, obesity or genetic susceptibility. Dogs and Cats can get this, however it is more prone in large dog breeds The signs to be on the look out for are struggling to get up or going up stairs, not wanting to do excessive exercise ( like running or jumping ) or they might be bunny hopping. If you believe that your Dog or Cat has this, take them to the vets for a check. One of the things that your vet might say to help with Hip dysplasia is swimming. This can help with stiff joints and weight loss is the other thing your vet might say to ease the presser on the joints.

The Saltwater Crocodile has the world's strongest bite force in the animal kingdom. They can snap their jaws shut with 3,700 pounds per square inch so in other words DON'T PUT YOUR HAND IN THERE!!!!!!!! These fascinating animals can live for around 70 years, however there have been some to live more then 100 years old. The Saltwater Crocodile scientific name is Crocodylus porosus.

Recently a new species of Primate was discovered.Scuentists believe that they are linkedto the Yeti. The Primate is called Golden Sunb- Noused Monkey. I don't think you would ever imagine seeing a Primate in these harsh wineryconditions but as we all know mothernature is truly unpredictable. 😁🐵🐵😁
