Assisting the vets
Our nurses play a multitude of roles. Assisting our vets when they are preparing for a procedure is just one element of what they do. Here are Shannon and Sophie helping out vet, Sam.

This filly was born with contracture of her flexor tendons and originally walked on her toes and knuckled over onto her fetlocks. Watch our equine veterinary nurses give her a physio session which along with medication, bandaging and splinting corrected the contracture.

Meet Floyd! He has had a chronic condition of his left eye; equine recurrent uveitis, which unfortunately progressed to glaucoma. Once it was established that the eye was blind the best course of action was to remove it to make him more comfortable. This can be done standing to remove the risk of general anaesthesia. Floyd was a superstar throughout his work up and surgery and is doing brilliantly at home. He is much happier with his one good eye.
Well done, Floyd! ๐ด
