When to say no to grooming?
Nala came in with a sore leg and she was showing me signs of being in pain.
I knew it wouldn’t be right to bath her and get her on the table so we did a mini groom on the floor where she would be comfortable.
It’s ok to say no to grooming when it’s not right to do so!
By accommodating to Nala and not forcing her to do things she wouldn’t be comfortable with, she knows she can trust me and we understand each other 🩵

I absolutely love grooming double coated dogs! I just imagine how good they feel after removing all that dead and itchy undercoat.
There is science behind it as well, the dog’s skin can’t breathe with the undercoat trapped and they are unable to regulate their body temperature because of this.
This is why grooming is so important! Most people think it’s a luxury to have a dog groomed and while certain breeds need it more than others, all breeds benefit from grooming!
