BFMUK TOP TIPS for responsible owners 🫶
ALWAYS CARRY A SPARE SLIP LEAD.
1. As a back up should your lead or collar clasp fail.
2. As a back up/safety net, should you drop your exempt dogs lead, this ensures leash requirements are always met/ lead is attatched to the dog and in your posession.
3. Teather off leash out of control dogs, should they be persistently invading your space.
Owners unwilling or unable to gain control.
Potentially putting either dogs safety at risk.
4 Whirl slip lead in the air *like a mad person* in a windmill like motion, as momentum gathers, both the sound, and visual of this deter off leash dogs from approaching, and or getting close enough to cause a potential reaction/incident putting either dogs safety at risk.
5. Should your leashed and muzzled dog ever be attacked, the quickest, and safest way to disable the aggressor is to use a slip lead to choke out the dog until, it passes out..
99% of dogs will let go to draw a breath, before they reach pass out point.
Place the slip lead under the attacking dogs neck loop the slip end through the handle, place high and snug right up under the ears and apply consistent pressure until the dog let's go or passes out.
You will then have a short window of opportunity to separate and teather.
6. Figure of 8 temporary muzzle. To subdue attacking dogs.

Today I have recorded a short clip on how to extend te side bars of BFMUK ultra adjustable comfy muzzle for a customer who's dog is beginning to out grow her muzzle.
Extending the side bars will provide more space between the dogs sensitive nostrils and the vertical bars of the muzzle basket.
I thought it would be helpful to share here.
The same process applies to shortening your muzzle. Just in reverse.
