Was very grateful to the National Himalayan & Californian Cavy Club for sending flowers for Granddads funeral, and a special rosette made by Lisa Obern, the Himalayan Club was very close to Grandads Heart and he always made sure to support the club for over 60 years, making lots of friends along the way. Thank you to all the committee for such a lovely gesture. Peter Wardman, Helen Lehan, Janet Saynor

A very sad day indeed, I have lost my grandad, best friend, mentor and stud partner. Gwyn David Jackson (90) started Bristol stud in the early 60’s breeding Himalayans and selfs, he has been in the cavy fancy for 7 decades and managed to achieve best in show in every one of those decades, his accolades included winning the real London show and also the best in show at the largest all Himalayan show. He has over 70 championship claims to his name and has been a judge and active member of the cavy fancy for many years. He founded the Bristol cavy club and was one of the original working group that created the chocolate Himalayan. I was lucky enough that I joined the stud once I stopped showing as a junior and we have enjoyed breeding many other breeds and colours over the years to much success. His advice and guidance has stood me in good stead throughout my cavy career but more importantly in life in general… he was the reason I started the you tube channel , so that when he became home bound he could still see his friends at the shows and see his cavies on the telly. I will miss him greatly as he was my pillar and strength

If anyone has and stories or pictures they want to share of my grandad in the cavy world that would be lovely to see or hear.
