Ollie’s guide to why he loves his UWTM Sessions:
✅Treats
✅Massage
✅Attention

But more importantly:
🔴Buoyancy (Weightless environment alleviating pressure on joints and supports weak muscles)
🔴Hydrostatic Pressure (Decrease pain & Swelling)
🔴Resistance (Building muscle strength)
🔴Temperature (Increase elasticity of tissues, relaxation etc)

Ollie does a fantastic job & is always a pleasure to see🙌

⭐️ Proprioception⭐️

This refers to the awareness of where a limb or part of the body is. This is a connection that allows your dogs to stand, walk and move.

We see dogs that range from acute to chronic proprioceptive deficits caused by differing issues.

Sometimes with the UWTM we will use scrunchies on your dog’s legs. You can see that D***y engages his back legs more and bends through his knees.

Well done D***y🥰

✨ Dog of the Month MAY✨

Our lovely dog of the month is Woodstock!

Woodstock broke both her elbows & has also had surgery on a patella, as a shy girly it has taken us time to build her trust.

She has been coming since 2022 with a combination of physiotherapy, laser therapy, home exercises & hydrotherapy. As Woodstock has made such good progress she has now started pool sessions.

Woodstock’s owners are super dedicated to her rehab and we continue to keep her as fit and healthy as possible.

Well done🥰

✨Introducing Legs✨

Lovely Legs is a Whippet who suffered a ANNPE ( acute non-compressive nucleus pulposus extrusion) a form of IVDD. Leg’s was paralysed on her right side & often the prognosis for these cases are unknown and uncertain.

Only 3 weeks into Physiotherapy Legs is standing walking & now even attempting to trot. And soon we will be starting hydrotherapy.

I look forward to updating you on her progress 😊

It's been a week since we launched our national campaign at Crufts which we hope helps educate and spread awareness of the serious injuries and long term risks to dogs from uncontrolled ball throwing 🐶

We have a full deep dive on ball throwing included in our latest issue of Animal Therapy Magazine, To Throw or Not to Throw? Ball Throwing Explained, written by Animal Physiotherapist & Canine Hydrotherapist Jemma Cooper.

Here lovely Toby is demonstrating walking on a decline in the UWTM💧
Toby very seriously broke his leg, but has had an amazing recovery; with the help of his very dedicated owners.
Walking downhill in helps us further strengthen all the muscles in his elbow and shoulders, weight-bearing more through his front legs all in a controlled way.

Well done Toby👏

Happy Christmas to all our wonderful clients ❤️ we are so lucky to be able to treat such fantastic dogs, bought by their dedicated moms, dads, and grandparents. Seeing such commitment to their dog’s rehab, and the progress they have made across the year reminds us why our job is so worthwhile💪🏼.

And a big thank you to every dog who got out their pawket money to gift us chocolate, sweets, biscuits, and sausage rolls 🍫. We really have been overwhelmed by your kindness, and your appreciation means the world to us.

For every lap around the pool, spasm massaged away, minute walked in the treadmill, and joint lasered, here’s to many more in 2024 🥂 . We look forward to seeing more of your happy faces in the coming year 🥰

Love Charlotte, Melanie, Aisha, and Melissa (& Harriet and Laura who I know a lot of you have missed and will be back with us early next year ☺️)

Teamwork is key at our Pet Fitness & Rehab Centre

Here at Clent Hills Pet fitness and Rehabilitation Centre we pride ourselves in the broad range of complementary services we are able to offer your pets. We are one of the only rehab centres in the Midlands to have physiotherapists, hydrotherapists and vets working alongside each other.

If your pet requires rehabilitative treatment, here’s how their journey with us will most likely evolve:

Step 1

The process starts with you, the pet owner. You may have noticed lameness and/or a change in behaviour, or observed an accident.
